Risking your life in honor is suicidal. You know you could die each time you risk it. Doesn't matter if it is honorable or not. Another good example is anyone who would give their life for a cause. Muslims, vikings, jews, etc.

I did look it up - and I quoted this:
After 6 years all debts are wiped. Look it up.quote:After six years they were set free without their wives and children. The slave owner kept the wives and children. That's a rather obvious ploy to make the slave "choose" to remain a slave.

No. Knowing you could die is not the same as actively trying to kill yourself.

The law is relative to when the slave is purchased. If the wife was purchased a year before the male hebrew slave in that scenario, she would be free first after 6 years then the male next, then the children according to the 6 year law. The master only owns slaves maximum of 6 years unless the slave chooses to remain a slave. Further in a lot of cases I would wager it was in their best interest to be a slave. You get food, work, protection, home, and etc.

You should argue that with a us marine fighting in the middle east. You should also ask a fire fighter choosing to attempt to save a person in a locked room when the building is about to blow up.

Of course that only applies to Hebrew slaves:

By all means, show us examples of Marines and firefighters who consider themselves suicidal.

Read exodus 21 with a open heart instead of a preconception and do what you would for any atheist thought. Try to figure out a way for it to make sense instead of just being anti biblical. I doubt you have ever tried.

I'm not being anti-Biblical; I'm showing you what the Bible says. Jumping through hoops to try to make sense of it is the wrong way to approach any text. You don't decide it's true and then twist it to fit reality. You read what it says and then decide if it's true.

I didn't say I was twisting the text that is your words. I didn't say I was jumping through hoops that is your words. I read the text and it comes naturally. You are the one jumping and twisting the text.

The context of that message was for you because you clearly don't understand the bible.

In leviticus 25 44-46 it is referring to heathen (pagans). In those days pagans were killed by jews because they are considered evil. In this issue it is much better to show how science does not conflict with genesis 1. This way the authority of the bible can be seen. I've also posted various videos check those out. I also think it is important to understand that in our day, since Christ fullfilled jewish law those ot laws are no longer required. Now we're instructed to follow governmental law as long as freedom of religion is included.

I've talked to marines about their tours in the middle east. They have said "it is crazy when bullets are flying by your head." One fellow I knew was shot in the spine. In my view it sounds suicidal. Pick your weapon. Shoot your self, or choose to go to war. If you read the wiki article people who risk their life doing something honorable are being suicidal. 2nd paragraph.

I notice a provincialism in the OP. I would have let it pass but for the author maintaining the perspective in more recent comments.
The OP asserts that adherents of certain religions 'appear' a certain way. It attempts to draw conclusions from this. But how people of this or that belief system 'appear' is a function of perspective. Where is one standing? What are one's measures? Where is the light? What message board are you on? In recent days much has been made here of the situation in one country. It's as if a deity that reigned over (at least) an entire universe would have some special sentimental attachment to that one piece of real estate among many on a single planet. That's how a mortal OP author in one country thinks. That's not how an impartial, fair-minded transcendent immortal cosmic mind would think. Until that limited perspective is shown to be objectively more valid than thousands of other possible perspectives, it is useless to reason based on how religions 'appear'. All religions appear all kinds of ways to all kinds of people. __ Edited by Archer Opteryx, : typoArcher O All species are transitional.
