Re: My Birthday
Happy Birthday brotha. Great house. I really envy country living (that's what I call living around trees)
Curious, is the 4 year old your only kid? Just asking because my daughters are 16 & 14 and I'm only 36. But I may one day have another, with a new lady if it ever gets there. What's that like being an older dad? I'm scared I'll be too much of a curmudgeon to like anything by then. But, I'm sure I'll be more patient and better off financially than when I was 19.

Re: My Birthday
I have a 30 year old son too. They are actually both adopted. One with my first wife other with my current wife.
Being an older dad is a challenge but not much more so than when I was younger. Just more exhausting I think. I am a curmudgeon so if I can do it you can. I did almost turn him into fertilizer yesterday, but today it is a funny story we will have forever.
The financially better off is a huge thing. Removes a lot of additional stresses I used to have.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts
"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

Re: It was 7 years ago today
Happy Birthday, Percy.
It was 7 years ago that I last used this image in this very thread. I started today out reading your PNT topic with our young Peter Lamont. Perhaps we could promote him to Free For All and let the wise codger jar ask him endless Socratic questions...or not.
Anyway, hope your day goes well, Percy. Thanks from all of us for the present that you have given us...this forum...in all its internet argument glory...and speaking for all of us here at EvC we wish you a day of reflection on how old you aren't....yet.
And it has happened again.
Moose

Well, then ... happy day, Percy, with many thanks!
Did you ever think it would last this long and be this much fun?
And to think we get to do this again next year.
Life is good.

Happy birthday, Percy--thanks for your magisterial voice and the best damned multi-threaded forum software on the planet.
I enjoy both every day, and my life would be poorer without them.

I always tell people, "I'd rather have you come to my funeral than have to go to yours," so I hope you achieve your goal.
When I die, I want it to be a surprise.

Re: birthday goal
Just remember, if you don't go to their funeral, they won't go to yours.
