Likewise, we find that grasshoppers have four legs.
I think that the authors of Leviticus were being somewhat imprecise, but that is rather odd of a book that goes into excruciating detail about various sorts of sacrifices and ritual offerings, a book that tells us about how Nadab and Abihu were zapped for burning incorrect incense.
