Re: Take 2
From my education, the center of gravity of a sphere is always the center, unless it is lopsided. If we have a hollow sphere, then the gravity at any point inside a hollow sphere is always zero due to the cancellation effect. Yes?
So, if the Earth is hollow, what's keeping the crust from collapsing into the void? The pressure must be enormous down there due to all the matter that is above it.
Yes, this is true that the force of gravity at the center of a sphere is zero, but how does the fact that there is no gravity at the center eliminate the possibility of having a void at the center? What scenario are you thinking of wherein having non-zero gravity would help support a void?
That and the fact that engineers have a track record of being young earth creationists around here...
None of the people on this site who I know to be engineers are YEC's. I am certainly not a YEC proponent.
He also claims that the center of gravity of the Earth isn't in the center of the Earth but rather in the crustal mass.
Would this make sense even if the Earth were hollow? Peter Lamont, are you out there?

Re: Take 2
I guessed a different submarine movie, but I wanted to point out that you missed out on the atta-boy by not giving the character names, Marko Ramius and Jack Ryan as required, and now it's too late.

Do I get any "atta-boy" for knowing where Tom Clancy got his information from and how he had worked out the submarine battles
Definitely worth an atta-boy. Nine more and you are even for the night!

For completeness sake:
Jeffrey Pelt:
"Mr. Ambassador, you have nearly a hundred naval vessels operating in the North Atlantic right now. Your aircraft has dropped enough sonar buoys so that a man could walk from Greenland to Iceland to Scotland without getting his feet wet. Now, shall we dispense with the bull?"
Ambassador Lysenko: "You make your point as delicately as ever, Mr. Pelt."

Re: Hollow Man
...and making snark backhanded comments are all YEC traits.
Are we supposed to be taking this stuff seriously? Are you actually suggesting that there really might be an entry point to the inside of the Earth located at the north pole? That the center of gravity of the earth might not be about 6400 km straight down from here?
Or more fundamentally, do you believe you've presented something that anyone ought to spend real effort refuting? Because the proposals in this thread haven't even reached 'Chariot of the Gods' level of seriousness.

Having said that God also says what the earth is made of etc, in many other places in the KJV. and includes a knowledge of how matter exists, and all the functions of nature we observe from the weather to the universe, and how it operates as well.
How about some example verses?

Re: Not hollow, but...
Before I engage the supposed examples you provided, I have to complain about the bait and switch. Here is the previous discussion and my request for example verses.
Colbard writes:

NoNukes writes:

Your examples don't touch on any of the stuff you promised.
Now about the particular bit of science you offered.
Most people think the earth was there, on the first day of creation, but Moses records that God declares the earth "appearing" on the third day.
This is hardly any science here. Instead there is a questionable bit of interpretation that would intended to correct other Bible interpretations. And then what about the third day stuff which regardless of whether the earth was present at the beginning, places the creation of the earth prior to the creation of the sun, moon, and stars on Day 4.
So depending on what we think the Bible says about these two elements, may determine what the earth is founded on, and why some people in the 1800's, jumped to the misdirected conclusion that the earth is hollow
Your statement here is nonsense. Nothing in the first few chapters of Genesis either requires or rejects a hollow earth.
As usual, claims that the Bible is a scientific text book turn out to be akin to numerology.

To provide info on the related topics would take weeks and months on the forum, however you don't need me to do that for you once you understand a couple of basics.
Yes I do need you to provide the info you promised. You haven't connected the dots to a single one of your claims of scientific knowledge in the Bible. You say that Job tells us what is inside the earth. So tell us what, according to Job is actually inside the earth.

However if Job, Jeremiah, Genesis, Proverbs are just a collection of poetic unscientific gibberish...then there is no point in discussing them.
Those books are not gibberish in my opinion. But they aren't science texts and don't intend to be. They would appear to be less scientific that you for example.
When Shakespeare wrote about taking arms against a sea of troubles, he was not talking about trying to cut the ocean with a sword. And yet he was not writing gibberish either.

If you cannot understand it, then ask God to open up your thinking, and you will get the answers one at a time.
That technique does not seem to have worked for you. So far you are unable to tell us any of the answers you received when your thinking was opened up.

You had your chance to find out from me, but you were too wise to listen, so now you can find out yourself, and if you don't get an answer, we'll know why.
Yes, I know why. You are a fraud.

There is no point in me replying here.
I had hopes that a few questions would cause you to focus your thinking. But you are too weak to respond to any opposition to your idea. I wonder what reason such a person would have to visit a debate site?

Re: Discussing hollow earth theory
That's a puzzle isn't it, and I can tell you are still curious about what I could have said about the interior of the earth.
Yes I was curious. I am curious about you, what you think, and why. I am curious as to whether you can rationally explain what you think.
However my curiosity is greatly diminished after a few non answers.
By the way, if the information is only in the Bible...
You are unable or unwilling to show us how the Bible describes the interior of the earth.
