In fact, with those folk present it was impossible to enjoy the area as a tourist destination. It is reason enough not to return to the area in the future.
Yes, heaven forbid that we should actualy see problems. Let's just go from our gated communities in our tinted-window limos to heavily-guarded airports and fly to other heavily-guarded airports and thence by armoured buses to resorts surrounded by razor wire to keep the locals out. Travel broadens but there's a limit to the breadth we should be subjected to.

Think what you want.
Thanks. I will.

Fact is, I am not going back there.
I'd be more impressed if you didn't like the way they treat homeless people instead of just not wanting to see homeless people.

And that's lost money for them.
Yes, that's my point. They could spend money to make money - either by hiding their homeless people or by helping them.

As I discussed in my earlier post, it wasn't seeing the homeless people that was bothersome. It was the fact of how many of them behaved: unpredictable, ill-tempered, rude, etc. It is hard to enjoy anything with such people aroundwhether they're homeless or not.
So you're saying you don't mind seeing elephants as long as they're not big and gray with a trunk in front and eating trees and so on.
You don't solve a problem by moving it. You don't cure erratic behaviour by (ware)housing.

No. I'm saying I don't mind seeing elephants as long as they're not trying to step on me.
As the scorpion said to the frog as they both drowned, "I couldn't help stinging you. I'm a scorpion. It's what I do."
Stepping on you is what elephants do. Acting cazy is what crazy people do. Moving them doesn't change their nature.

No, but it does keep me from getting stepped on.
So "Love your enemies!" but dump your garbage in your neighbour's yard? Nice.
