Re: Gamblers Fallacy
I believe that roulette wheels have been shown to be statistically non-random due to small physical imperfections.
Even with the non-random nature, unless it is substantial, there is a very low probability that small "runs" are actually revealing whatever tendency the wheels have.
Now you've got me wondering about what kind of testing might be periodically applied to roulette wheels to make sure that their "tendencies" do remain low. Perhaps the answer is 'not enough'. I'd be happy to test my hypothesis if someone wants to bankroll an investigation, 'cause I'm surely not doing it with my money.

Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846)
I have never met a man so ignorant that I couldn't learn something from him. Galileo Galilei
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. Frederick Douglass
