Did you READ it ? What is so evil about it ?

Isn't it true that you object strongly to the legalisation of gay marriage ? That people like you are working hard to prevent it ? With all the disadvantages to gay couple that entails ? That seems to me that you want to disadvantage people for living lives that you disapprove of. Even though it hurts you not at all. Oh and we shouldn't forget your nasty and unfounded attack on the courts for coming to decisions you don't like.

And here's another story of similar "tolerance" by the LGBT crowd
Just as not every Christian acts like the Phelps family, not every LGBT person acts like the ones described in the article you linked to.
The article talks about people making death threats to people engaged in hate speech. I agree with you that the people issuing the threats have actually found a way to occupy lower moral ground that the Christians they address. Quite remarkable.
Still, both sides activities are lower than whale excrement.

But we aren't even objecting to people living as they please.
I suppose that this is the question then: if, (and I don't support this, but if), the law were to be to permit homosexual marriage, but to exempt Christians from baking wedding cakes etc, would you still support that law ?
If not, then you are objecting to people living as they please.

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

Faith writes:
Total collapse of civilization in microcosm at EvC.
And yet on virtually any measure you wish to mention, Western civilisation is, in fact, becoming increasingly better and better. Crime is falling, health is improving, people are living longer and happier, society is more democratic and fairer, people are better off, the disadvantaged are less disadvantaged, education is available to everyone that wants it, discrimination - present company excepted - is less, serious divisions in society are fewer, wars between the developed democracies are unimaginable and on and on. In fact, if it wasn't for wars amongst dogmatic religious believers in the East, the world would feel pacified.
Of course we have some work to do in bringing Africa into the modern world and the forthcoming and inevitable economic dominance of China will take some navigation as will the testosterone driven, macho culture of Russia; but by-and-large, 'we've never had it so good.'
I've looked outside, the sky is definitely not falling. I suggest you look beyond your personal little bubble and see what's really happening in the world.

THEY are objecting to Christians obeying our conscience.
But they're not: you can not bake all the cakes you want, you just can't offer your services to the public if you want to discriminate against a protected class of people.
How can you not understand this?

How can YOU not understand that Christians obey God and God tells us that homosexuality is sin and that marriage is for a man and a woman? That's embedded in our conscience and you should know that and they certainly know it because their whole strategy is to force us to renounce it or be severely punished. Shades of the Inquisition: recant your belief or die. You'd of course be happy if we died, as you just said in [Msg=853]. This is no longer America when someone can say such a thing on a public forum.\\\

Of course I wouldn't support it, I oppose gay marriage. THe point is that if society goes that way it's possible to live with it except that they won't let us live with it. They are determined to force us to choose between our conscience and their misguided idea of their rights, and punish us for standing on our conscience.

You are equating Christian behavior with the outrageous behavior of the LGBT crowd against Christians?> And what behavior might that be? You mean daring to insist on our First Amendment rights to obey our conscience? The only thing lower than whale excrement here is that evil opinion.

More paranoia from Faith.
No one is being forced to accept same sex marriages.
Please list at least one instance of two people of the same sex being forced to get marriage or stop making stupid claims.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Some day it will be clear that it is you and other supporters of the LGBT gang of bullies who are the Nazis in today's world.

How can YOU not understand that Christians obey God and God tells us that homosexuality is sin and that marriage is for a man and a woman?
No, I get it. And that's fine.
You just can't offer your services to the public if you are unable to offer them to everyone.
That's what you're failing to understand.
If you are unable to bake cakes for gay people, then you cannot legally offer your services to the public.
Plain and simple. No punishment involved.
This is no longer America when someone can say such a thing on a public forum.
So the first amendment only applies to speech that you like. Got it.
Horribly wrong, but I understand what you are saying.

Sorry Faith but what gang of bullies?
Can you please tell us about the same sex couples that have been bullied into getting married?

It IS punishment to prohibit Christians from running a business. And stop mischaracterizing the situation. The ONLY service that is refused is anything that validates gay marriage, NOT general services to homosexuals as such. Blech, the mentality here is disgusting.

More bullshit Faith
A cake does not validate a marriage.
To claim it does is absurd.
Sorry but the bakery folk were no different than other bigots down through the ages.
So please present evidence that same sex couples have been forced to marry?
Please explain how a marriage with a cake is more valid than a marriage without a cake?
