I apologize for last night's outage. Our server's data center experienced a power failure, and apparently there was a problem with the backup generators.
I believe this is the second time this has happened in the last couple years, but I can't find the thread where I would have posted a notice. I'd like to have the details available so I can include them when I file a complaint, so if anyone comes across that thread please let me know.

The story about power failure plus power back-up failure may be true - but I'd seen a major slowdown of the site *before* the outage and was beginning to think that the problems of a few weeks ago were returning.

Percy,
Between the All Topics and the Contact Us buttons at the bottom of the page when viewing post there appears to be an extraneous

which show up a gray square or gray line depending on which browser you are using.

I noticed that too. But it's been there since well before the site when down the other day, so I'd be surprised to find out the two are related.

I agree, it's been there for at least a week. I didn't mean to infer that I thought the two things were related, just that there is an anomaly on the page.

About the same time the gray square showed up, someone had complained that he found the "All Topic" and "Contact Up" buttons to be too close together for his touch screen device. I'm presuming Percy put it in there as a spacer.

It Works!
Just wanted to let you know that the new "Do Nothing Button" works wonderfully. Whenever I click on it, it does nothing. So far it has done nothing through 24 clicks. I even tried to sneak up on it when I thought maybe it wasn't looking and take it by surprise but every time it caught me and did absolutely nothing. Good work.

That's correct. See Message 6.

Do Nothing Button
My Do Nothing Button does not seem to be working.
Windows 8 and Firefox 34.0.5
I've tried other browsers and it seems to be broke in them as well.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Same here. I just click the Do Nothing Button and coffee comes out of the USB port. Thanks, Percy.

Thanks for putting the button in there.
I haven't accidentally opened up an email to you once since you did.

Re: Do Nothing Button
My Do Nothing Button does not seem to be working.
What symptoms are you experiencing when you click on it?
I've tried other browsers and it seems to be broke in them as well.
Have you tried not clicking on it to see if anything changes?
You may need to re-boot your PCS background. (Personal Cognitive System)
I find a glass of Cabernet helps in that regard.
