Seems to me that everybody here has a sort of block to thinking objectively about a social institution and can only think emotively.

You didn't read very carefully. I said ALSO with reproduction in mind but my main definition of what qualifies a couple for marriage has always been simply the complementary difference between the sexes. Homosexuals do not qualify for marriage by any conceivable standard.Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

Homosexuality is not a legitimate minority. We do not grant special rights to aberrant groups.

Yes the majority opinion has been going against Christians for some time. We do what we can in the hope of pushing it back, but it seems to be winning anyway. That's of course why I keep congratulating the devil. I don't know which societies you are talking about but it doesn't matter how well they are doing now; if they were formerly Christian they're going down hard under God's judgment. He has no reason to judge nonChristian societies as harshly but eventually the whole world is going down. I'm an American at heart, very sad to see her go, and it will be hard to take the vitriol of the "progressives" but I expect to go through it. EvC has given me a tough hide, I hope it holds up if things get physical. We also have to hope some will see the light and be saved. Economic collapse is one of the big ways God judges a nation and we've certainly been on the verge of it for years. There are plenty of Christians these days who understand that we're past political solutions, but I've been hoping for revival for a long time and I've pretty much given up that it's going to happen because the Church itself has too much to repent of that isn't going to happen. I'd really like to be wrong about that. They are God's instrument of judgment right now, but they'll have their turn at being judged.

Not everything is judgment.

I don't try to determine it in many cases, sometimes it's just clear that something is judgment.

If you are talking about the instances of Christian business people, none of them denied general service to gays, a "class of people," only services that support gay marriage which they oppose.

Right, of course you would. So you'll drive all Christians out of business, which is at least along the lines of what prophecy tells us to expect.

Of course, "bigots" according to you are those who refuse to give up the tenets of their religion, as long as it's the orthodox Biblical Christian religion. But you wouldn't call a Muslim a bigot for refusing to give up FGM would you?
