Re: Club Rules
Shouldn't the kind of love for God be completely different than the kind of love for one another?
I can't understand how there could be a competition between the two.

Re: Club Rules
Flesh gives birth to flesh and Spirit to spirit.
Well, yeah; they're completely different.
That was my point.
What I dont expect nor accept is a couple in church limiting themselves to carnal expression.
I suppose church would be the wrong place for carnal expression. But there're plenty of other places for them to do it...
I see no point nor purpose for marriage between two men.
You keep repeating that, but you keep providing no reason.
That is, for the record, my opinion.
That's fine, but for the sake of clarity don't you think you could provide some reasons for that opinion?

Re: Phats Opinion
Why limit your love to just one man?
So you'd be okay with polyamorous homosexuality?

Re: Phats Opinion
For a man to love more than one man in no way implies that sex is even part of the equation.
Why should it be?
So these men should remain chaste their whole lives?

Re: Phats Opinion
How many times do you quote dictionaries on this site, and now you can't be bothered to use one to look up something as simple as a single word?
Adjective
chaste
(comparative chaster, superlative chastest)
  1. abstaining from sexual intercourse, celibate

Re: Phats Opinion
If either partner finds themself idolizing the other and/or worshiping them than no, they shouldn't be married.
So the more in love they are then the more reason they have to not marry?

Re: Phats Opinion
Staying hung up on whether or not they should "allow" it, while the men are going out and getting married, misses out on a great opportunity to keep God in the picture.
They're going to have to stop being so dogmatic about hating men lying together if they don't want to be left in the dust.
Lesson being: As much as they may hate it, not even the church is immune from the processes of evolution...

A Distinction with a Difference
Just a side bar point: there are no unwanted children in same-sex marriages.
Its wrong to think that gay people can't have children. They do: Message 10
Yes; but the children they have are all wanted.

Re: A Distinction with a Difference
They could get married before or after that event and still end up with a child they don't want. Especially if the other parent dies.
I considered that. But I don't think that is at all what xongsmith was talking about.
Do you?

Re: A Distinction with a Difference
I think xongsmith was pointing out that straight couples often end up with children they don't want, many times cannot afford, and are unprepared to raise.
Homosexual couples don't have that problem, and so, contrary to the utterly stupid shit Phat's been spewing into this thread, homosexuals are as equipped asif not more thanheterosexual couples when it comes to raising a family.

Children can find role models anywhere. What is most important is that they have good role models of both genders.

Re: A Distinction with a Difference
Still isn't really working for me.
That's because still you aren't reading what is written.
You's simply inventing your own version of xongsmith's argument.
And that won't get anyone anywhere.
