I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to be melodramatic. That should be mellow! You'll have to talk to RAZD about that. I tried everything. In-grown toenail, bursitis, hay fever, sinus infection, sprained ankle, kidney stone, chapped lips... They just won't give me the prescription.

Back in the mid-70s I grew some in my attic under a VHO fluorescent gro-lite. I don't know what it takes here in Oregon to get a marijuana card. I seem to remember a niece got one for a bad back.
Come July, rec pot will be legal here. I will probably try to grow some different strains for my own use. I love experimenting and the stuff I grew a long time ago was real killer weed. The whole attic had a deep fruity resin smell. A fun project. What if Eleanor Roosevelt had wings? -- Monty Python One important characteristic of a theory is that is has survived repeated attempts to falsify it. Let' see, now.
Set up boxes, drip system, lights, fans prior to July 1. Then seeding, sprouting, transplant to medium, flowering in 10-14 days, pull the males, remix the nutrient, veg, more veg ... ok more veg, harvest, hang, clip and cure.
Hey, everyone! Party at Tany's place on Labor Day!

Set up boxes, drip system, lights, fans prior to July 1. Then seeding, sprouting, transplant to medium, flowering in 10-14 days, pull the males, remix the nutrient, veg, more veg ... ok more veg, harvest, hang, clip and cure. That's all way too fast. When I did it before I started with 60 seeds in small peat pots. The lighting cycle was 18 hours on and 6 off. Pruned the tops between each node so they would branch again and again. Got about 20 tops on each plant. Culled down to 36 plants in half gallon milk cartons. Always watching for the best growth of foliage rather than stem length. Eventually, I had 12 plants in 5 gallon plastic buckets, which just fit under the 8 foot long light I have my notebooks somewhere, I need to dig them out. I adjusted fertilizer amount as they passed through stages of growth. After about 10 months I cut the lights back to about 13 hours. A week or so later they started to bloom. Two were males so culled them right away. Each of the tops became a huge 12-14 inch long bud about 2 inches in diameter. As soon as blooming started I pruned most of the leave so I could see the blooms. Flowering continued for about 2 months until male blooms started spontaneously appearing. At that point I harvested and hung the plants in garbage bags for a month or so until it cured. Nine of the plants seemed almost identical even though the seeds came from completely different batches that friends and I ran across that seemed really good, based on the high, taste and odor. One of the final plants was from seeds collected from a batch called Thai Stick. It had leaves that were differently shaped than the other plants. Some of the leaves had as many as 15 individual blades. It smelled and tasted different and the high was more intense also. I have heard that there are many varieties now and selective breeding has intensified many pleasing attributes. I look forward to experimenting with some of these. I did not know what I was doing, but the results were very nice. All through the project my friends and I sampled the material I was pruning off the plants and it was quite good, but nothing compare to the buds once they were cured. The buds kept 8 of us supplied for several years. I was developing my career at the time and I found that being high seemed to kill ambition. I was great on plans and slow at carry through. Some of my friends spent way too much time high, in my opinion. I did like toking and taking my camera out and getting creative. I know this is way off topic, but I thought some of you might be interested. 12 months? Ahh, man, that's not good. So, when's the party? Next 4th of July?
The story of my misspent youth. Sounds to me like you learned a good bit of the science of horticulture. Well spent, indeed. [abe] You're right. Off topic. I stop. Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given.

Back in the mid-70s I grew some in my attic under a VHO fluorescent gro-lite. I don't know what it takes here in Oregon to get a marijuana card. I seem to remember a niece got one for a bad back. They now make LED lights that provide proper wavelength light for greenhouse use. My provider (under RI medical MJ program) uses a cloning technique that cuts down on the cycle time between harvests and eliminates the males in the process. For medical use it needs to be a controlled environment so that you don't get bacterial\fungal\viral infections that can be passed to clients. We have get-togethers to harvest the buds, and he also processes the clippings to make "bubble hash" which is primo and very concentrated. His honey makes baked goods that are also primo. Hi everyone. I used to post pretty frequently here a few years ago, but life has caught up to me and now I'm just a rare lurker. What you may not know, however, is that I'm Asgara's son.
Anyone reading this thread is aware that my mom has stage four colon cancer. In order to help her pay her bills and keep insurance until Medicare kicks in, a friend of hers created a GoFundMe account for her.
Asgara's Go Fund Me I'm passing it along, as I know that knowing someone is going through a fight like this can make others feel like they want to help but have no idea how. Every little bit here helps. I'm not asking for, nor am I expecting, a huge donation from anyone, but even $5 helps. As a boss I used to have liked to say, "Shavings make a pile." Anyway, good luck to everyone fighting cancer or who knows someone fighting cancer. With some luck and some amazing doctors and scientists, maybe we can all kick its butt in the near future.

It's a pity that people have to set up sites like this in order to get the medical care they need.
Done. My pleasure to donate.Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

I am not about to give my credit card to this place and they didn't offer pay pal as an option. That is too bad.
