Old rocks never die. They just erode away.

The King of Blues
Riley B. King - B. B. King - arguably the best guitarist of the age.
His techniques, tones and rhythms profoundly influenced all blues and rock guitarists these last 60 years.

Since we're flashing back to Aug. 2014 - Don Pardo (Feb 22, 1918 — Aug 18, 2014)
6 days after Lauren Becall.
Don Pardo - Wikipedia
Have been sitting on that one because I discovered it late, but now seems to be a good time.
As I recall from the above cited (read it quite a while back), Don Pardo was doing his thing at Saturday Night Live right up close to the time of his death (although sometimes it was prerecorded elsewhere).
You can try to find the Youtube clip of him narrating with Frank Zappa doing "The Slime", back in about 1976. The version I had bookmarked is no longer available, although I did do an audio capture to save. That may have been the earliest SNL I saw (it, IIRC, started in 1975).

One the unfortunate side effects of aging. Faulty memory and forgetting to fact check. Oh well, I will miss Lauren.....
