Nicely done, with class.
You know, nicotine increases mental alertness.

Force of habit
So how you making out subbie? Any back sliding going on there?
After 45 days of vaping I find that I am still at risk of picking it up again. I had said earlier that I could hardly smoke a cigarette but that has changed a bit. My machine broke on me one day and after about 5 hrs I smoked a cig without much difficulty although it didn't taste as good as they used to. Since then I have smoked about 5 cigs of Drum rolling tobacco and they still taste good. Tenacious habit.
What really shakes my head though is the thought that previously in that time I would have smoked some 1800 cigarettes. Lungs are freakin amazing.

Re: Force of habit
So far so good. I'm well past the chemical addiction stage, now it's just dealing with the psychological part. I don't expect I'll ever get completely over that.
Someone I know who quit fairly recently said that if he were diagnosed with a terminal illness tomorrow he'd pick it right back up. I suppose that's where I am. I'm not smoking, and I guess I won't again. Quitting wasn't particularly hard for me, and at this point, it's just something I enjoy that I'm not going to do anymore. No back sliding, and no particular difficulty in not back sliding.

Yeah that part is a bitch. Even with the nicotine I find that I miss the act of smoking.
Anyway glad to hear it and kudos.

Anecdotal Report
So vaping didn't work out. I developed some kind of pleurisy or pneumonia or something after about 3 months. I didn't feel short of breath but I sounded like darth vader under water. It took about 4 days to clear up after I stopped.
On the bright side I managed to quit vaping and I have a bunch of vaping gear and 20 vials of juice available for sale. I wonder could you use the juice to bake with? I might be able to quit smoking if I can eat chocolate chip cherry pipe flavoured cookies all day. Or whiskey flavoured nicotine brownies.

Speaking from personal experience, you will always be an addict. The best thing is a friend or family member that will chew your ass if you start again. Left on your own, you run a high risk of relapse. A friend or family member that knows where you stash cigs, how you sneak cigs, and can smell them on you from a mile away is the best friend to have.
Or you aren't the craven addict I was. Let's hope for the latter.

Unless you are used to eating and drinking nicotine. My smoking habit went from smoking to chewing. That's like going from snorting heroine to injecting heroine.

Re: Anecdotal Report
So if I can't bake with it could I use it as an eau de toilette behind the ear or if I rub it on my feet will it kill the fungus that lives there before being adsorbed into the blood stream?

Re: Force of habit
Well, I'm at nearly 6 months now, and haven't had any particular cravings since about 2 weeks after I last smoked. I did find one extra cigar that I'd missed a month or so after I stopped, and it still sits where I found it. And now, sometimes days will go by without me even thinking about it.
The wife and I went casinoing a couple weeks back, and I suggested to her that we indulge for that weekend, but she nixed the idea, quite concerned that if she started again she might not be able to stop. I honestly don't think it would be difficult for me, but I abstained nonetheless.
I do understand that it's a terribly addictive problem for most people, but it really hasn't been very difficult for me in the least.

Re: Anecdotal Report
I know this is from way back, but one thing I found out about is 'PG Free vap'. They use vegetable oil rather then proplene glycol because some people can not tolarate PG.
If you went back to smoking, you might want to consider PG free stuff.

Re: Force of habit
I was surprised. I stopped smoking about three years ago. I still have thoughts about "I'd like a cigar tonight" but have not had one so far. I still enjoy the smell of tobacco when in places where others are smoking and my sister and her husband both still smoke.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: Force of habit
Yeah, if I'm in a place where others are smoking, I'll sometimes move closer to them to get a whiff. And, a few months ago, I took one hit off a cigarette a friend was smoking. I miss it some, but certain don't crave it by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm a life-long non-smoker and now that smoking is banned in most public places, it bothers me more when I do smell it. I don't even like to pass somebody on the street who's smoking.
