Trial and error will eventually show the best path. To live with wholesale homophobia and misogyny is definitely not the best way but you go ahead and do nothing if you prefer.
I will continue to do my duty to society as I see fit.

I'm not advocating doing nothing. I'm just objecting to your silly suggestion.

How many bad topics do you have to start before you eventually see a better path?

Secular atheists like myself fully support your religious freedoms to worship any deity you want. I also support your right to dress as a clown and spray yourself with waffle syrup while signing "Pop Goes the Weasel". It all seems a bit silly to me, but you certainly have the right to do as you see fit.

Faith
Is your God a fascist?
He advocates interference and correction and so does your church.
Ask all the dead bodies they left behind during the dark Ages and Inquisition.
Proverbs 3:12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
I do it out of love while your forefathers did it out of hate.
Or do you see the Inquisition as a loving organization?

"It all seems a bit silly to me, but you certainly have the right to do as you see fit."
Is there a limit to your statement?
Lend me your ears, um, eyes for a bit.
For the evils of religion to grow, read any scripture literally.
Any and all harmless beliefs are allowed by Gnostic Christians. We know that any myth can be internalized for good results and as esoteric ecumenists, we enjoy knowledge of all the myths that man has created about Gods.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR02ciandvg&feature=BFa&l...
When there is a victim is when that view changes. Then you see why Christianity annihilated Gnostic Christianity. We do not let the evils of forced literalism go unopposed. To a tyrant like Constantine, we were poison. One of his first commands to his new Church was to kill off the free thinkers and of course, his new tool, his Church, did as bid. It was quite a ride for free thought for the next 1,000 years.
How can a Gnostic Christian, --- and any other free thinking moral person, --- not judge other's morals when seeing someone hurt other because of the same Church's teachings today?
Can you ignore such things if you have decent morals? Impossible. Especially with Islam pulling the same murderous, freedom stifling ****.
We must discriminate and judge constantly. Every law is a compulsion on all of us to judge.
It is my view that all right wing literalists and fundamentals hurt all of us who are moral religionists, --- as well as those who do not believe. Literalists hurt their parent religions --- and everyone else, be he a believer or not. Literalists and the right wing of religions make us all into laughing stocks. Their God of talking animals, genocidal floods and retribution has got to go. So must beliefs in fantasy, miracles and magic. These are all evil.

I see the Inquisition as the murder arm of the pagan Roman Church, and my own Church its primary victims, the true Church, Protestants all the way back to the early Church. Those who confuse Romanism with Christianity have no sense of history or true religion at all. But I wouldn't expect you to have any sense anyway.

The Bible itself identifies Gnosticism as heresy, not any church denomination.
I am not going to watch any of your You Tube offerings without knowing who they represent and what they are about.
Your arguments are the ones advocating harm to others.

Faith
Eh. Thanks.
Which ancient cult are you talking about?
I think I can trace the roots of Gnostic Christianity, my religion, back to the Chrestians.
Which cult do you see as your roots and where were they for what, 1400 years?

No "cult," just true Bible believers who early on -- 7th century at least but they claim to go back to earlier limes than that -- recognized the antichrist direction of the Roman Church and stayed separate from it, nevertheless being hunted down and murdered by the RCC from time to time. Waldensians and other dissident groups got persecuted by the RCC, the Waldensians living in the high valleys of the Alps for centuries, sending out their own missionaries, regarded the RCC as the antichrist system. When the Protestant Reformation got underway the Reformers recognized the earlier persecuted groups as Bible believers like themselves, proto-Protestants.
Some claim that Gnosticism already existed as a heresy of Judaism before Christianity, but in any case it's always been regarded AS a heresy. Some Bible texts that are considered to be condemnations of the gnostics:

You forget that the winners of the God wars, Christianity wrote the history.
It is not surprising that the old Christians would have hated Gnostic Christians forever. We idealized Gnosis and knowledge while Christianity hated knowledge and wanted to keep everyone as dumb as possible.
That tradition is exemplified by the Christian burning of the libraries in Alexandria and continued throughout the middle ages.
What is different about your particular denomination of cult? Is your version of Christianity as homophobic and misogynous as the so called false Christian sects and denominations?

Historical Christianity is based on the Bible. Deviations from the Bible are the evidence of heresies. Some curruptions of the Bible do exist but the vast majority of the extant mss and parts of mss show consistency, no evidence of some conspiracy of "Christians" to alter the text.
You forget that the winners of the God wars, Christianity wrote the history.
By that ridiculous standard there could never be any possible trustworthy history. So if Gnosticism had prevailed we couldn't trust their history either.
Sorry, Gnosticism is a heresy, it contradicts and violates Biblical revelation.
I thought it was the Islamic invasion that was the occasion of the burning of the library at Alexandria. Google turns up discussion of four "possible" occasions of burning, only one of them at all Christian:
Ancient and modern sources identify four possible occasions for the partial or complete destruction of the Library of Alexandria: Julius Caesar's fire during his civil war in 48 BC; the attack of Aurelian in AD 270 — 275; the decree of Coptic Patriarch Theophilus in 391 AD; and the Muslim conquest of Egypt in (or after ...
A couple of Roman Emperors, a Coptic patriarch and the Islamic invasion. Merely "possible" occasions. In other words it isn't known for sure.

True of Alexandria but Hollywood chose Christians and Hollywood is more accurate than historians.
"Sorry, Gnosticism is a heresy, it contradicts and violates Biblical revelation."
Absolutely and that is why we are not a homophobic and misogynous religion like yours?
All moral people will violate your creed and moral tenets.
You wrote.
"Historical Christianity is based on the Bible."
And the bible is based on the Torah.
And look at what intelligent people say of that.
Bill Moyers Journal . Watch & Listen | PBS
Rabbi Hillel, the older contemporary of Jesus, said that when asked to sum up the whole of Jewish teaching, while he stood on one leg, said, "The Golden Rule. That which is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the Torah. And everything else is only commentary. Now, go and study it."
Please listen as to what is said about literal reading.
"Origen, the great second or third century Greek commentator on the Bible said that it is absolutely impossible to take these texts literally. You simply cannot do so. And he said, "God has put these sort of conundrums and paradoxes in so that we are forced to seek a deeper meaning."
Whatever you have talked yourself into believing.
Enjoy the movie.

P.S. You call myths history. You might want to re-thing as no historian recognizes the Jesus you follow. Archeology killed any history from the bible a long time ago. I have links.
