My comment
How about posting the Lord's commentary regarding homosexuality .... then give the interpretation What does He say .... as if anyone cares?

You are not giving the license, the state is. A bit of sophistry there. The Nazi who herded the Jews to their death wasn't really doing it, the state of Germany was doing it. God knows the difference. I don't want to be complicit in the state's giving the license either.

The problem with giving the Lord's word on homosexuality is that people are already confused about what this problem is about. It's not about homosexuality as such, it's about marriage. We could give the scripture that shows God made marriage for a man and a woman but then we get into this huge flap about all the polygamy in the Old Testament which they claim must have been legitimate because there is nothing except the scripture about one man and one woman which they don't think is sufficient. It is for me, but nobody accepts anything I say here.

The problem is that the Bible doesn't say what you want it to say - so you have to cherry-pick.

You should be bound and gagged so you can't tell lies.

Stand up and be counted Faith .... rock and roll .... it is you who possesses the truth about the matter .... state your case and be done with it The Lord has dealt the cards, and will trump the behavior [Romans 1] And multiple marriage seen in the OT is human behavior and not necessarily the Lord's preference .... many acts of humanity are recorded in scripture, but not all are done good taste The Lord only intervenes if He has a direct purpose And whether ringo lies or not makes little difference .... one must consider the source Edited by Straightshot, : No reason given.

So you're against the death penalty? I thought you were arguing FOR an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and a life for a life, as if it was some kind of "perfect" justice.
Oh I mind a great deal.

The issue above is moot
It is the Lord who ultimately gives life and takes it away .... in the final judgment [Revelation 20:11-15] What humans do is another matter and only temporal

Not bound tight enough, gag too loose. Yes I'm for the death penalty but it bothers me a great deal if innocent people are convicted. Even an idiot should have known that's what I meant. You don't think. Nor do far too many others here.

I don't know if you're nuts or just malicious as usual, but if I issue a license for a GAY MARRIAGE, I am in tacit agreement that gay marriage is acceptable, which I cannot allow because the Bible says it's a violation of God's law. In this case I am not participating in the ceremony itself or having anything to do with the ceremony, I'm just giving a license for a marriage that is illegitimate according to the Bible. But if I issue a license for a marriage of Hindus, or Mormons, or apostate Anglicans, or Jehovah's Witnesses or Shintoists or Buddhists or Catholics or atheists, etc etc etc, as long as the license is for one man and one woman there is no problem. Excuse me but you are a blithering *****. It was a yes-or-no question. Would you like to take another run at it? If a Christian is "required to participate" in a ceremony involving worshiping false gods with burnt offerings and the adoration of heathen idols, that's not a problem?

Faith writes: I don't want to be complicit in the state's giving the license either. Then you shouldn't go to work for Caesar. Clerks in many places have issued licenses and permits for KKK and neo-Nazi marches and rallies, Wiccan festivals, etc. These groups violate Biblical strictures on a regular basis--the witches aren't even to be allowed to live. But no Christian clerk that I recall has taken a public stand to refuse to issue other licenses and permits. You keep telling us it's not about the gay, per se, but the failure to meet the biblical definition of a man and a woman. If that were true, we'd see acts of Christian conscience from civil servants and bureaucrats, civilly disobedient and not, constantly in the news. There is only one sin, apparently, with the juice to make Christians draw a line, while other sins, with Biblical death sentences, pass by without comment. One can change anything about the license applicant without triggering the Christian conscience. Except one thing. It's the gay, Faith."If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you can collect a lot of heads."
