Religion becomes a serious problem when it uses force or law to promote its beliefs. You can rub blue mud in your naval on alternate Thursdays for all I care, but when you try to force me to do the same or try to teach your beliefs in public schools you've crossed the line.

Which group do you think is right? I tend to ignore the religious beliefs of all 40,000 or so extant world religions. That number alone should provide a major clue...

A religion is sometime a source of happiness, and I would not deprive anyone of happiness. But it is a comfort appropriate for the weak, not for the strong. So, just to check. When you thought the End Times were going to involve death, famine, pestilence, war, locusts with human faces stinging people, the reign of the Antichrist, and so forth, you were actually looking forward to that ... but instead you find that the future holds such terrors as people you'll never meet contracting a marriage which is none of your business, and now you're horrified. That's just nasty. Ooooooh, that's gonna leave a mark!

I don't know if you're nuts or just malicious as usual, but if I issue a license for a GAY MARRIAGE, I am in tacit agreement that gay marriage is acceptable, which I cannot allow because the Bible says it's a violation of God's law. In this case I am not participating in the ceremony itself or having anything to do with the ceremony, I'm just giving a license for a marriage that is illegitimate according to the Bible. You are not giving the license, the state is.

Lena Masri, an attorney for the Council of American Islamic Relations Michigan (CAIR), says Charee Stanley followed management’s directions, working out an arrangement with her coworkers to accommodate passenger requests for alcohol. However, Masri said, ExpressJet Airlines put Stanley on administrative leave after another attendant filed an Islamophobic complaint that referenced Stanley’s head scarf. We notified ExpressJet Airlines of its obligation under the law to reasonably accommodate Ms. Stanley’s religious beliefs, Masri said at a news conference in Farmington Hills on Tuesday.
