I am a huge Floyd have never seen them in concert but did see Roger Waters in his 1984 tour for Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking at the Radio City Music Hall.
I truly enjoy all of the different stages of Floyd. From the beginning psychedelic songs of Syd Barret up to the Arena rock sound of the Gilmour lead Pink Floyd of the 80's and 90's.
At one time I had every Floyd album available in the USA including 10-15 imports. Unfortunately the ex wife sold them all. Not the cause of the divorce but a contributing factor.
For years my favorite Floyd album was the Final Cut. IN actuality as you said it was a Waters album primarily, but the songs are haunting and riveting.
Right now I am really enjoying Animals again. Here is the 8 track version of Pigs on the Wing. Different than album version. Snowy White is on Lead Guitar.

Kevin Costner and Modern West
I have been really enjoying this group.
They have two albums out. Turn It On and Untold Truths.
Here are a couple cuts from them.
They have a country, country/rock flavor.

Re: Plugging my radio show
Just saw this. Hate I missed it. I have KUMD setup to stream on Media Monkey. Please send a reminder nextxt week. I have a friend that used to do a show on KUMD around 1990-1992 time frame. When I move back up to Douglas County I will be to get it in the car again. Yippee. I have discovered a lot of music listening to KUMD.

Ian Britt
My wife saw this on Parenthood last week. Actually quite good. I just purchased a bunch of his music directly from his website. Looks like he is trying to not get caught up in the whole music industry scam.
Have any of you limeys seen or heard of him?

Dharohar Project, Laura Marling and Mumford and Sons
I was just introduced to Mumford and Sons a few months ago. Since then I have been enjoying some of the West London folk scene.
Laura Marling and Noah and the Whales are a couple others.
Just came across this EP. Raucous and fun.

I might be driving home from Superior about that time so hopefully I am still in range. I'll make sure to turn the feed on when I get home.

I honestly cannot tell when they do this.
How can you determine
The music still sounds great. In some cases, it sounds better in my opinion.
Sounds like you are just spewing dogma to spew dogma.

I am wondering if this is an apocryphal quote.

The Wall tours
Just saw the latest rendition of The Wall tour last year. Though probably not as overwhelming as the Berlin show, it is amazing and stunning.
Snowy White is still making the guitar wail.
Here is the 8-track version of Pigs on the Wing, with a Snowy White solo.
Quality sucks but you get a taste. Worth tracking down if you are a Floyd or Snowy White fan. It is on his Goldtop album.
Here is another great song by Snowy

Re: Music for the road
I might have to listen to some Scorpions, since we seem to have similar tastes in music. Only issue I have with your post is that the artist's name is spelled Gilmour. I have been a big Floyd fan since I was 13 and started listening to "Wish You Were Here". I had all of there albums on vinyl, now have them digital.
David Gilmour's new album, Rattle That Lock, comes out on Friday. I have already prepurchased it.
A good source to buy music, if you don't want to give Amazon your money is https://us.7digital.com.

For travel I have a 128GB thumb drive in my car and a 128GB microSD card in my Surface. With my Surface and my bluetooth Soundfreaq speaker I can take a lot of music anywhere I want.

Re: Music for the road
I finally got to listen to the album yesterday. I had preordered the Deluxe package a while ago, so was patiently waiting. Yesterday I received an email saying that it was on backorder. The order was placed directly through the David Gilmour website. I had a scathing reply that the reason I ordered it early was to make sure I got a copy right away. I cancelled the order and bought it and downloaded it yesterday. Record companies still suck ass. Unbelievable that they do not have enough discs to meet the preorder demand.
Lesson to myself, not need for the physical copy just buy the digital. I was looking forward to the Blu-ray extras though.

Re: Music for the road
I really like it. Very much a Gilmour album. His distinctive guitar sound is there. His wife writes pretty good lyrics too.
I could not live without a good sound system in my car. I highly suggest you look into getting a sound system that has USB inputs. It is nice to be able to not have to mess with a MP3 player and be able to control all your music right from the dash. I bought a 2011 Chevy Traverse a couple years ago. It has a decent sound system with USB. The file support is a little clunky. If you go with a system with USB make sure that it will sort by Mp3 tags, not just file names. In my car it sorts the files by how they were put on the drive. I have to run a program when my USB stick is connected to my computer that sorts the FAT so the system will alphabetize by groups.

Re: Charlie Parr
I do like Charlie Parr. I have most of his cd's and have seen him live a few times. Been a while though. He used to play Wednesday nights at Fitgers. I think it was called the Red Star club. The problem was his set didn't start till 10. I am too old to be u that late, especially when I have a 45 in drive home.
Might have to consider taking the trip to Two Harbors. We get back from a trip to Puerto Rico the day before so doubt I can convince my wife to take the drive.

If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?
