I always think of Maureen O'Hara as John Wayne's wife. They had a strained marriage in Rio Grande, Big Jake, McLintock! and probably some other movies that don't immediately come to mind. Anybody who can tame the Duke is all right.

Another great silver screen beauty found her way to sunset blvd.
Lots of great movies and what a pretty lady she was. "You were not there for the beginning. You will not be there for the end. Your knowledge of what is going on can only be superficial and relative" William S. Burroughs

Tame the Duke? I recall Wayne spanking Ms. O'Hara in McLintock. About the only scene I can recall from any of his movies.
Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. Martin Luther King If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions? Scott Adams

True, but that was just his way of giving in. Otherwise, she would have left again. She wanted him to want her.

She did make it in her own right.
It isn't easy being the child of an icon, and early in her singing career, Natalie Cole resisted the legacy of her famous father, crooner Nat King Cole. - xongsmith, 5.7d
