Lol, fathers and mothers already dictate what their young children will wear, and yet you don't recognize that. Instead you set up a straw man in which to attack by attempting to appeal to Ringo's sensibilities which detests men dictating what women should wear, as if it conflicts with Western values.
But the bottom line is that, for however inappropriate it may be for a man to dictate how his wife ought to dress, it's even more inappropriate for an entire nation to dictate how one should dress. Banning clothes will only reinforce people's desire to wear them. In other words, it would fail and would only serve to alienate people

Hopefully the misogynous Muslim men who deny their women first class citizenship.
Certainly not the women being forced.
Believe it or not, some Muslim choose to wear it. Anyway, what good would it do to ban it altogether? Out of sight, out of mind?

But it would show Muslim men and their oppressive regimes that they are not compatible with our values and we will not tolerate open displays of their making second class citizens of their women and daughters.
But the women very often don't see it any different than what Western society might differentiate between wearing a dress or pants. If a woman chooses to wear a dress, or pants, or a head covering, it is her right.
IF she is being oppressed or coerced, she is free to contact the authorities if she is able. I am not at all underplaying the extreme misogyny that is often found in Islam, I am simply saying that not all Muslim women are "forced" to wear them and that banning them would cause more harm than good.

Put yourself in someone else's shoes
If they are coming to our land to live in our culture, should we not expect that they do so because they like our culture, and if not, why would we want them and why would they want to live where they do not want to fit in?
Lol, no. What an insular and myopic view of the way things ought to be.
If you were offered an incredible job in India, would you automatically disavow your cultural heritage completely and totally assimilate into Indian society by doing all things Indian, dressing in garb typical of Indian culture, and otherwise give no respect to the American culture in which you were raised in? I mean, after all you moved there because you like the culture, right?
If you wouldn't completely disavow your way of life when moving abroad, then why should anyone else be expected to?
