Re: The Hills Are Christ Is Alive
believe that God exists.
I do not believe God is alive.
I cannot imagine or describe what such a state might be but it certainly is not alive in the way we use the term alive.
Does that mean you canimagine or describe Gods state of existence then?
I'd love to hear this description.

Re: The Hills Are Christ Is Alive
I am not arguing with your belief. I am disputing your logic.
On one hand you say you do NOT believe God is alive because:
I cannot imagine or describe what such a state might be but it certainly is not alive in the way we use the term alive.
But on the other hand you do believe that God exists despite similarly being unable to "imagine or describe" what such a state of 'existence' might entail.
Its logically inconsistent is my point.

Re: The Hills Are Christ Is Alive
By your own terms of being able to "imagine or describe" a given state there is no more or less reason to describe God as 'alive' than there is to describe God as to 'exist'.

Re: The Hills Are Christ Is Alive
Can you within reason provide examples of things that exist which people generally will accept?
Can you imagine and describe a way GOD exists within those parameters?

Re: The Hills Are Christ Is Alive
Right.
So with regard to 'exist' you are spouting the same (I quote) "word salad" incoherence that you are accusing others of doing with respect to their description of God as being 'alive'.
Glad we cleared that up.

Re: The Hills Are Christ Is Alive
Well ambivaguety is as ever jar's only real defence.
But his objection to the description of 'alive' was based on being unable to "imagine or describe" God in such a state. If he can't "imagine or describe" God's existence either then the same "word salad" objections he is accusing others of here apply equally to him.
Edited by Straggler, : No reason given.

Re: The Hills Are Christ Is Alive
Jar can't meet his own stipulated requirement and is pontificating accusingly at others for something he is guilty of himself.
If he wants to change his criteria to take some sort of definitional ease into account and thus resolve the logical inconsistency/hypocrisy in his argument then he is welcome to do so.
He didn't do that. He just fell back on the same waffle he always deploys when caught out.

Re: The Hills Are Christ Is Alive
I'm not accusing your belief of being logically inconsistent. I am pointing out that your position in this thread is logically inconsistent.
