This is a thread where those who believe that there was some world wide flood or that one or more of the Biblical floods actually happened can present the model, method, process, procedure or mechanism that produced specific things seen in reality. To attempt to keep it somewhat organized one item will be considered at a time and once a satisfactory model, method, process, procedure or mechanism has been presented we can then move to the next example that needs to be explained.

The first question is "How did the flood sort things so that there is a layer where there are no chordates while layers above do have chordates?"

Bump in the hope that someone can explain the process, model, method, procedure or mechanism for the flood to sort things so that there is a layer where there are no chordates while layers above do have chordates?

Of course there is magic I guess or "Insert Miracle Here".

Good start. Let's assume that is true for a start and move to the next question.

So the flood did not have anything to do with that layer.

What is the process, model, method, procedure that allowed the flood to sort things so that there was only sea life while the layers above contain sea life and also land plants but no seed bearing plants?

Re: different causes for different layers?
Faith writes:

You would be right that most creationists don't think all the layers were deposited by the Flood, in fact I'm not sure how many -- if any -- do think that, but I do. The layers are too uniform to have had different causes, and the most sensible explanation is water that covered the whole planet.

So here is the first question:"How did the flood sort things so that there is a layer where there are no chordates while layers above do have chordates?"

What is the model, method, process, procedure or mechanism that explains that sorting?

Re: different causes for different layers?
Will that be the answer to explain each layer?

Re: different causes for different layers?
The Biblical floods never lasted longer than a year according to the fables so anything that took even a century is not related to one of the Biblical flood myths.

This topic is about flood mechanisms, we can deal with other Young Earth nonsense in other threads.

So here is the first question:"How did the flood sort things so that there is a layer where there are no chordates while layers above do have chordates?"

What is the model, method, process, procedure or mechanism that explains that sorting?

Re: different causes for different layers?
Since there never was a world-wide flood or either of the Biblical floods during the millions of years humans have exited I agree that it is silly. However some people do make such claims and thus this topic to allow those people to try to provide explanations.

There never was millions of years and we might as well say there was no post of yours either. One cannot wave away the flood by making bellicose statements of faith.

Of course there was not just millions but billions of years and ALL of the evidence supports that conclusion. It is not a statement of faith but rather a conclusion that can only be avoided by willful ignorance.

And the evidence that there has never been a world-wide flood during the millions of years that the primates like humans have been around is also conclusive and can only be avoided by willful ignorance.

But the purpose of this thread, once again, is to allow those people who think one of the Biblical Floods actually happened to explain some of the mechanics.

If you do not think the separation of the non-chordate layers from the chordate layers was caused by the flood then you have nothing to add at this time. When we arrive at a layer you might think related to the flood then you can explain the model, method, process, procedure or mechanism that produced that specific layer.

Understand though that nonsense like young earth will result in nothing except chuckles.

Re: different causes for different layers?
Show us a little of this evidence you claim there was no flood!!!!? Hilarious.

Gladly, but not in this thread.

As I may have mentioned this thread is a place for those who think one of the Biblical floods happened to try to present the model, method, process, procedure or mechanism that produced that specific layer.

Re: different causes for different layers?
You need to understand that many of us are not just believers but Christians, some cradle Creedal Christians with a Christian Education.

No one is insulting believers only really silly and long refuted beliefs.

Re: different causes for different layers?
Adam is a character in a fable and folk tale.

Fictional characters don't fossilize.

Topic.

Is there any chance you might be able to even try to address the topic?

Re: different causes for different layers?
There is no such thing as "The Bibleā„¢" but rather quite a few different Christian Canons ranging from the smallest at 5 books to the largest which has over 80 books.

Topic.

Can we get a post that is on topic?

The Flood layer.
So far we have had two folk post entirely different understandings, one that all the layers were caused by the flood but that person has not ever provided a satisfactory model, method, process, procedure or mechanism that can explain what is seen.

More recently a new poster has said not all layers were flood layers and were put down by the normal processes (which by the way was the conclusion geologists arrived at long before any form of radiometric dating was knows and which refuted the the idea the earth was young and demonstrated that the earth had to be at least at least millions of years old).

Is there some layer that should be identified as the flood layer? If so, which layer is it?
