Answered Prayer
I can see the spirit flowing through those remarks!
Trump displays a similar spirit. National prayers may be answered!

Re: "safe zones" ... riiiiiiiiiight
In other words...stay in your "zone" and you wont get hurt.
Didn't Hitler try that with the Jews?

This election will soon be in the past! I wonder if anyone will someday comment nostalgically about the times we live in now?
I pray for our future.

Re: Well, I did my part
interesting article!
quote:
But Tuesday’s vote for president and for control of the Senate will determine whether the court remains short-handed for months or, as Republicans are now threatening if they hold the Senate, for years.
We surely live in bizarre times. The two party system has evolved to the point that it splits us...divides us as a nation.
Each election seemingly boils everything down to only two choices regarding our vote for every candidate, every position, and every amendment.
Is this healthy for US Politics??

Trump Ahead!
As of 1024 pm MST, Trump is ahead in the electoral college by 244-215 and it doesnt look good.
What worries me about him is that the Supreme Court will turn very conservative and the world will not react well to Trump as US figurehead after embracing Obama.

Re: My reactions.
I posted this on my facebook:
Update Your Browser | Facebook
quote:
One of the campaign slogans in this last election was Make America Great Again. In light of this, as we pause before the God Who created us and ponder our collective destiny...what does this slogan really mean? More to the point: What should it mean?
First, I will say what it does not mean...at least to me.It does not mean economic growth and materialist expansion. The Creator of all seen and unseen is unimpressed with how wealthy we become. God could care less if every family has a new i-phone or if we are able to take home more money or if we are able to build skyscrapers and space ships. God is concerned with one thing. How will we treat each other? How will we embrace peace in the world? Will we continue to spend more money on newer and more terrible military weapons? Will we build walls instead of bridges? Will we feed the poor or will we cut off government assistance? Will we help our community or will we retreat into our paneled houses and care only for our own families and children while ignoring the growing poverty outside our homes, cities, and our nation?
I did not vote for Donald Trump. I am ashamed of my country for being so ignorant regarding reality. I pray that this egotistical man humbles himself and trusts God to help him govern an aging, desperate, and overly entitled empire. He is for better or worse the figurehead for my nation. When everyone in the rest of the world looks to America, they will see and hear this man speak. They will be affected by foreign policy decisions. And lets not pretend that America is a Christian nation. We are a pluralistic society that grants freedoms to all causes and beliefs...whether God approves of them or not. America DOES have Christians, though. We also have people of other faiths as well as people who believe only in science and human potential.
The way to make America great again is for the people to embrace other people and work together to make humanity great again. For my Christian friends, Christ in us can make this happen. For my Islamic friends, Jesus not only was a great prophet--He is a great prophet even today and will help teach you to communicate with God as you allow God to strengthen you. For my atheist friends, human potential is only actualized through something greater within us than ourselves. You all know what I believe. Show me what you believe by what you do.
Finally I will leave you with a scripture:
Eph 6:12-- For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Got Jesus?

Free To Make Money
But the big takeaway here is the Democratic party grossly underestimating how disenfranchised people in the rust belt have been feeling for a long time now. They watched their net worth evaporate as jobs were shipped overseas. And to add insult to injury, many got devastated in the wake of the financial crisis.
The Democrats were supposed to be the party of the middle class. But in the end, they just became a reflection of the Republicans by placating to the same Wall Street assholes that have caused the last few booms and busts we have seen.
I just had my step 2 meeting to try and get my union job back. The union is not happy with this election, and all of my Christian friends are telling me to forget the union and trust God...while my republican friends are telling me im "free" to make as much as I want now....but for an aging 57 year old diabetic with limited strength...my only recourse is to be a televangelist!

Re: President Trump
Will he treat the presidency as freely as he treated The Apprentice and WWE Wrestling?
Will his ego expand to ne heights? Will the people around him be as vapid as Cheney and Rumsfeld in administrations past? This is the real question....who will be his right hand men (and perhaps women...if he has them around for their brains).
As a Christian, I ask whether he will ever humble himself and actually try to be a great president or whether his mouth will shoot off like a loose cannon for the next 4 years, causing all sorts of unforeseen international repercussions.
Finally, what will he do with domestic spending and the budget?

I think it's time to have a discussion about the issue of being a responsible citizen.
It would seem to be the best way to "make America great again".
Our culture tells us that success is about money, power, and fame.
Responsibility is never mentioned as much as it used to be.

Re: The Italian hotel owner
I agree with the commandments given by Jesus. What I don't agree with is the idea that our government should legislate morality on its citizens. I agree fully that the command not to be selfish should be between an individual and God. The government should never interfere in these matters.
