The drip, drip, drip is now like the Oroville dam.
What did the President know and when did he know it? Who else knew this guy was compromised? These people are playing games with OUR national security. For what, monetary and political gain? quote:https://www.washingtonpost.com/...72-263470bf0401_story.html Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. The Republicans don't care. They like to display their patriotism, which seems to be only for show. But they are okay with the white house being full of traitors, as long as they are Republicans.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

I don't think there's anything in the regulation that would prevent a broker from discussing with you the pros and cons of a risky but potentially very profitable investment. It's intended to rein in brokers whose primary goal is to maximize their commissions (some products carry higher commissions than others) rather than your profits. For example, a broker sells you Annuity X instead of Annuity Y, not because Annuity X is better for your particular financial situation but because it pays him a higher commission than Annuity Y.
Here's an excellent article that describes the rule's intention and the objections pretty well: Robo-advisers shrug off U.S. fiduciary rule hubbub Here is the text of the rule from the Federal Register: Definition of the Term Fiduciary; Conflict of Interest Rule-Retirement Investment Advice --Percy

The real question should be why the law was needed.
Anyone offering their services as a financial advisor should be providing good advice - the best they can - to their customers. If they are chasing commissions they are just salesmen and should admit to being salesmen.

And his resignation letter is classic "alternative facts".

The law was needed to differentiate between retirement accounts & regular trading accounts since more people depend on self-directed accounts for their golden years. Before Reagan, very few people owned these types of accounts.
Good advisors explain to their clients that retirement accounts shouldn't be treated the same as a day-trading vehicle, but not all advisors are good.

A mole or a handler?

These people are playing games with OUR national security. For what, monetary and political gain? This of course brings Russian hacking of the election back into the center ring -- is this tit 4 tat? Is the promise of sanctions lifting payback for the hack? And Flynn could not have promised sanctions on his own, he would have to have had authorization from Trump or the Russians would have laughed at him. Do you remember the drip, drip, drip on Watergate and Nixon's WH attempts to deny and discredit? Well what else do you expect from flaming liberals out to sabotage il Donald.
quote: Wait, Roy Blunt? The Republican Senator? From What's next? Joseph Smith wasn't really a Christian?
quote: Wait. Does that mean alternative facts are really the truth? Does that mean people other than the national security advisor don't have to be absolutely trustworthy and truthful? Knowing that makes me feel so much safer. Edited by jar, : point out that Blunt is from the Alternate Montana

MO not MT. I think Blunt would take offense being mistaken for a Montanan.
Seems John Cornyn and Lindsay Graham are making the call for an investigation too. Some Rethugs think it is more important to investigate the leaks rather than the treason. Maybe this is what the Rethugs were hoping for so they could impeach Trump and put Pence in the Presidency. I think that this going to be taking down more then Il Donald. I'm guessing he'll just say that he knew nothing about what Flynn was doing.
That's hardly credible, but when has this ever bothered the Trumpster ?Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

That just an alternate Montana.
But everyone knows Lindsay Graham is just a sore loser. And John Cornyn? Who ere even heard of John Cornyn? Has he ever has his own TV show? Does he even own a Golf Course? Or a single Tower?

And it seems that Trump, knew about the phone calls: Trump knew of Flynn Russia phone call issues 'weeks ago'
And the Acting Attorney General warned Trump about the legal issues.(Which raises questions about her sacking - clearly the Trump, administration don't care much about the law and I wonder if an honourable person could take the AG role)

I am having visions of a phone call from Putin to Trump:
"Donald - this Flynn situation, it concerns me. We still have deal, yes ?"Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?
