The second season is coming up circa May. There was an Xmas episode.
I find the concept captivating and the cinematography mind-blowing. Just the lay-out of the scenes is incredible. There's a half-hour "Making of Sense8" segment on Netflix about how they travelled the world and had to revisit earlier shoots to see how this next shoot fits into the story. Amazing! A lot of the themes end up being LGBTQXYZSDKDLIRONGIE-whatever. People are people! I honestly do not know anybody else who has watched this show.

Should have mentioned that it's produced, written, and directed by the Wachowskis (The Matrix) and J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5).
The premise is that there exist clusters of people, sensates, who are psychically connected, so that they can feel what the others feel, visit with each other, and use each other's body to perform tasks (hint, when visiting and they pick up something or sample some English tea, it's through the physical body that's there). These clusters are seen as a threat by a powerful organization, possibly governmental, led by a powerful sensate, Whispers, who hunts down other sensates. The show is about a cluster of 8 sensates scattered around the world (San Francisco, Mexico City, Chicago, London, Berlin, Nairobi, Mumbai, Seoul) which is just starting to become connected. Each has skills that they use to help each other. To get a sample, there are several video clips on YouTube, for example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXM3XpiMJjc&t=5s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tqx-YW5Xbww https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vfx2cPEhfL0 It's not all action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqU7Vah8FVs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8cwybilMiA All the switching of bodies in the audience's perspective is done with camera work, not special effects. The production crew circled the globe filming all the scenes which integrate different locales very tightly. The Wachowskis had worked all that out ahead of time and kept it all straight.

May have to take a look. I was a big fan of Babylon 5 in the 90s. So it Straczynski is involved, might be worth a look.
One other show to suggest for those that have Amazon Prime. I just started a trial run of that and began watching 'The Man in the High Castle'. It is a dystopian alternate history show that takes place in the 1960s. Based off of a book by Philip K. Dick, it revolves around a concept where the Allies lost WWII and the United States is now broken up into two main areas: The Greater Nazi Reich and the Japanese Pacific States; with the rockies functioning as a 'neutral zone'. The main plot of the show revolves around a film that a woman discovers that shows a different history; one where the Allies won the war. Other films then show up and the mystery revolves around who is making them, are they authentic and if so, does that mean the future can change? The show is definitely worth a look. Here is the trailer for anyone interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzz_6dmv03I

I've heard of that one, but I don't have access.
I read news that the show recently set up "Resistance Radio" as publicity for the new season. It drew a lot of protests from right-wingers who didn't realize that it wasn't real. A similar publicity stunt was one for the new season of "Better Call Saul." AMC ran a realistic commercial for Los Pollos Hermanos complete with an appearance at the end by Gus promoting his curly fries. Edited by dwise1, : Los Pollos Hermanos

Yes, they also got into trouble when they advertised the show in the NY subway and they used Nazi and Japanese WWII imagery to showcase things. Didn't go over too well.
Looking forward to the next season of Better Call Saul. Huge fan of the show and I loved Breaking Bad.

Wait, which is it? Oops, I just now got your joke. Different meaning of "straight", just as yet another meaning was used when in college I was described by someone as the straightest guy he had ever met (meaning in those days "non-freak" AKA "not a hippie"). I was going to apologize for the letter-salad, which I intended as a joke that it seems like extra letters keep getting added on; eg, during the campaign suddenly a "Q" was added. Somewhere I read or heard the statement that there are 23 genders, but I think that was satire. The reviews for the show seem divided between people to like it and anti-LGBTs denouncing it as part of the "gay agenda." The latter probably didn't get past or even through the first episode, which did use a gay pride event in San Francisco in its location shots but that was because it was happening when they went there -- 10th Doctor's "Martha Jones" was excited that they got to ride with Dykes on Bikes -- see the "Making of Sense8" feature. As it is, of the 8 sensate characters, one is a gay actor playing macho roles and another is a transwoman in a lesbian relationship (with Martha Jones). The other six are all straight. So while it does have some LGBT themes and has the audacity of treating those two characters and their stories seriously and directly, there is also a lot more going on in the show.

One other show that I might recommend to everyone who likes space sci fi is The Expanse on the SyFy network. It is based off of a set of books James S.A. Corey (which is actually a pen name for two authors) and it takes place about 200 years in the future.
The show actually is contained entirely within our solar system, which has been divided into Earth/Luna, the Mars Republic and The Belt (a reference to people that live and work in the asteroid belt). What makes the show different from many others is that it really takes the physics seriously. There are no fancy technologies like artificial gravity, inertial dampeners, faster than light capability, transporters, etc. All the engineering of the ships is very much grounded in reality. And the special effects are surprisingly good considering it is a TV show. CGI has come a long way and can produce very inexpensive and amazing effects. They are into the second season now, but you should be able to watch everything on demand if you have it. Trailer is here for anyone interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X5gXIQmY-E

I was hoping they would get a second series but I lost track of it.
Good stuff. The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer. -Attributed to Buzsaw Message 53 The explain to them any scientific investigation that explains the existence of things qualifies as science and as an explanation-Attributed to Dawn Bertot Message 286 Does a query (thats a question Stile) that uses this physical reality, to look for an answer to its existence and properties become theoretical, considering its deductive conclusions are based against objective verifiable realities.-Attributed to Dawn Bertot Message 134

I was going to apologize for the letter-salad, which I intended as a joke that it seems like extra letters keep getting added on; eg, during the campaign suddenly a "Q" was added. Well yeah there is history and the 'T' and the 'B' also got added during the campaign(s) - if memory served it often came down to what University groups and the like should call themselves. It used to be 'gay rights' but gay became associated more with men, so the lesbians were like 'hey we're getting inadvertently overlooked in this discourse and we have problems that diverge from gay men...' so it became Lesbian and Gay at which point the 'Bi group' pointed out that this left them in the cold and LGB label was born to avoid the clumsy naming them all, the Trans got upset that that since they were pretty much part of the same community they should stand together and be included in the name and when other sexual identities followed the catchall Q was added. It has been used as a mean spirited joke by some, but I understood it wasn't meant that way in your case. That said, you added so many letters it actually took me a moment to understand what you were saying. The typical joke goes along the lines of LGBTBBQWTF
Somewhere I read or heard the statement that there are 23 genders, but I think that was satire A bit of both. There is this confusing area that is neither male or female (trans or cis), and within this area are people who differentiate themselves from one another. The genderfluid sometimes feel male other times female - there are those that don't feel either some that feel both, some that feel exactly in the middle and so on and so forth. There are different names for these identities such as 'neutrosis' 'gender neutral' 'genderqueer', 'pangender' etc etc. Part of this fracturing is a result of the fact that it is only quite recently that people talked about it so there is a sort of linguistic and social exploration of ideas going on. It's a bit of a lumpers/splitters issue in the genderqueer community
Martha Jones I said I was sold didn't I? Now shuttup and take my money!

First, NetFlix cancelled Sense8.
Second, I saw either on FaceBook or on AOL a link about Sense8 being given a two-hour finale that will stream in 2018. First, it looked like click-bait and I don't bite on click-bait. Second, there's more than one video on YouTube of unfulfilled cliff-hangers because the show had been cancelled, no resolution, no joy. I would have to say that I have more respect for the powers-that-be who allow a show to finish telling its story. If this story is true, then hurrah for NetFlix!

Nice to see someone else who enjoyed that show as much as I did. Sorry to see it go, but that tends to happen to a lot of good shows nowadays. It is awesome of Netflix to pump in just a little more money to make their fans, and subscribers, happy. In the end, I think the show just cost too much with locations spread all over the globe. I also really enjoyed the Wachowski's movie "Cloud Atlas" which shares a little DNA with Sense8. Overall, I am looking forward to see what the Wachowski's do next. I am a big fan of theirs, even if they put out a stinker now and again.
