On Russians and Wiretaps
Yesterday FBI chief James Comey testified before the House Intelligence Committee that the FBI was investigating Trump staff ties to Russia, and that there was no evidence supporting Trump's wiretapping claims. Article: F.B.I. Is Investigating Trump’s Russia Ties, Comey Confirms
It has been widely expected that Trump wouldn't be able to get through four years without committing an impeachable offense, but now it seems possible that he committed an impeachable offense even before being inaugurated. Of course he won't actually be impeached, not with the Republicans in control of the House.

I'm not sure what impeachable offense he might have committed yet.

Threats from the Playground Bully
According to today's Washinton Post il Donald made direct threats against any Republicans that did not support TrumpCare.
quote:
I’m gonna come after you, but I know I won’t have to, because I know you’ll vote ‘yes,’ Trump said, according to several Republican lawmakers who attended the meeting. Honestly, a loss is not acceptable, folks.
Now Trump would certainly not be the first President to try to bully Congress but unfortunately he's not bright enough it seems to know how to do it. Instead he makes it public so if they cave in he will be seen as the bully he is and if they don't it will simply be yet another in the long line of Trump failures.
And if he thinks ObamaCare was a disaster it will be nothing like the disaster called TrumpCare.

Re: On Russians and Wiretaps
I am actually wondering if this is somewhat of a mea culpa on Comey's part for the snafu regarding the re-opening of the investigation of Hillary's emails right before the election. That is widely regarded as a bonehead move and could have actually tipped the scales in favor of Trump in the election.
My guess is he is performing this civic duty as a means to finally settle the matter and to also give the impression of his bi-partisanship. But I don't think much will come of it. There may be a smoking gun that is discovered. And Trump may actually be stupid enough to have left a trail for them. We shall see.
But my personal opinion is that Trump wasn't in collusion with anyone. He is too dumb to come up with a scheme that intricate. My guess is Putin saw an opportunity to put a halfwit into the White House and he capitalized on it. Trump in the end is just a spoiled-brat man-child with no impulse control. And if he had colluded with the Russians, he probably would have bragged about it on Twitter.

"I predicted a lot of things, Michael. Some things that came to you a little bit later. But, you know, we just rolled out a list. Sweden. I make the statement, everyone goes crazy. The next day they have a massive riot, and death, and problems. Huma and Anthony, you know, what I tweeted about that whole deal, and then it turned out he had it, all of Hillary’s email on his thing. NATO, obsolete, because it doesn’t cover terrorism. They fixed that, and I said that the allies must pay. Nobody knew that they weren’t paying. I did. I figured it. Brexit, I was totally right about that. You were over there I think, when I predicted that, right, the day before. Brussels, I said, Brussels is not Brussels. I mean many other things, the election’s rigged against Bernie Sanders. We have a lot of things." --- Donald Trump.

Presumably, he will soon be looking to change America's official language to gibberish.

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

We’re gonna win so much, you may even get tired of winning. And you’ll say, Please, please. It’s too much winning. We can’t take it anymore. Mr. President, it’s too much. And I’ll say, No, it isn’t! We have to keep winning. We have to win more! We’re gonna win more. --- Donald J. Trump, Albany NY, April 2016

Re: This is great.
Trump is great he is doing everything he said he would.
Somebody has to repeal and replace Obamacare. And they have to do it fast and not just talk about it.
"We will immediately repeal and replace ObamaCare - and nobody can do that like me. We will save $'s and have much better healthcare!"
"Obamacare is going to be repealed and replaced. You’re going to end up with great health care for a fraction of the price and that’s gonna take place immediately after we go in. Okay? Immediately. Fast. Quick.
"On day one of the Trump Administration, we will ask Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare.
Real change begins with immediately repealing and replacing Obamacare. What a mess,
When we win on Nov. 8 and elect a Republican Congress, we will be able to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare. We have to do it,
I will ask Congress to convene a special session so we can repeal and replace ... And it will be such an honor for me, for you and for everybody in this country because Obamacare has to be replaced. And we will do it, and we will do it very, very quickly. It is a catastrophe.
Real change begins with immediately repealing and replacing the disaster known as Obamacare ... It has just been announced that the residents of Michigan are going to experience a massive, double-digit premium hike, like you wouldn’t believe. It’s not going to matter that much, honestly, because we’re going to terminate it. You’re not going to have to worry about it, OK? Don’t worry.
We have to get to business, Obamacare has been a catastrophic event. probably some time next week and a replacement very quickly or simultaneously, very shortly thereafter.
It will be repeal and replace,...It will be essentially simultaneously. It will be various segments, you understand, but will most likely be on the same day or the same week, but probably the same day. Could be the same hour.
