Re: Evolutionists can not explain morals
No, God ordained punishment for the guilty.
And in case you think this contradicts the command to love your enemy, the command is to individuals about personal enemies. We are never to give aid to haters of God or his people.

Oh, God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son"
Abe says, "Man you must be puttin' me on"
God says, "No", Abe say "What?"
God say "You can do what you want Abe but
The next time you see me comin' you better run"
Well Abe said, "Where do you want this killin' done?"
God say, "Out on Highway 61"

I'm pretty sure that all the actually guilty Amalekites would have been long dead by the time of Saul.

Re: Evolutionists can not explain morals
Chir, if you believe in equality as you use Pauls quote .."I believe in a relatively equal society, supported by institutions that limit extremes of wealth and poverty. I believe in democracy, civil liberties, and the rule of law. That makes me a liberal, and I’m proud of it. -- Paul Krugman

Then how can you believe in evolution which favours inequality and branching, and superior races and superior people rather than EQUALITY.
Equality is consistent with Jesus and his life and words.... but opposes competition and the survivasl of the fittest.
You must learn to be consistent with your principles if you are to advance with an open mind and an OPEN HEART.
Please reread your comments about evolution as a supposed equal heritage with ages and chimps etc.... evolution is not about equality but inequality.

Everybody is guilty.

The command to love your enemy underlines the fact that there is no difference between friend and enemy. Everybody is your friend. Everybody is your enemy, including (especially) yourself.

On the contrary, we are to give aid especially to the ones we perceive as enemies.

Which was the important point found in Luke 4.
Luke 4 writes:
23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.
24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.
25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;
26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.
27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
The Jews, like many Christians today, thought they were God's people. Jesus was telling them that that was fantasy.
Muslims and atheists and agnostics and Satanists and Hindus and Buddhists and Taoists and animists and Druids and all other people are God's chosen people.

Re: Evolutionists can not explain morals
No false and a feeble attempt to blame God and blame Christians
Gods chosen people are those that choose God, choose Jesus or choose love.
The Lord determines their situation and judges righteously in mercy for those that have chosen mercifully.
It doesnt appear you have mercy for others, so might reconsider the anger in which you speak and try to accuse the Lord's people and the Lord Himself.
But again, its your choice.... and your RESPONSIBILITY

Re:Atheists and evolutionists have no morals.
The topic HERE concerns atheists and evolutionists not Christians.
Athesists usually have no moral code, but one they dream up themself, and it inevitably fails them in their older years, as it (usually) doesnt revolve around love, so they get bitter and meaner in their waning time.
Evolutionists are empty as their theory and religion, because luck and chance is hardly a means for betterment or anything to have faith in. They also wane in their mental ca

Re: Evolutionists can not explain morals
David, once again you are simply posting utter nonsense that has no relation to the topic.
Davidjay writes:
Gods chosen people are those that choose God, choose Jesus or choose love.
An absurd bumper sticker slogan that has no0 worth or meaning and is certainly not supported by what the Bible says as I quoted.
Davidjay writes:
The Lord determines their situation and judges righteously in mercy for those that have chosen mercifully.
It doesnt appear you have mercy for others, so might reconsider the anger in which you speak and try to accuse the Lord's people and the Lord Himself.
Which of course contradicts what you said above and in fact i quoted. You may think you are "the Lord's people" but Jesus said you are wrong.

One man-made thing can in fact be better than another; a house, a sandwich, a medical diagnosis....
You make an excellent point: Things that are intelligently designed for a purpose can be assigned meaning.

Humans can and do form their own codes of morality, but it could be anything. If a human believes that he is created by God, then it makes sense to conclude that the God who made everything and knows everything, will also know what is morally right and wrong, It also makes sense that this God will let humans know what is right and wrong.

We see from your posts that you see avoiding punishment as a valid basis for what you call "morality" and pretty much nothing else.

I think "we" are not seeing very well and have barked up the wrong tree (I was under the impression that "Paulk" represented one person, but it turns out that Paulk is "we" - more than one person.)
I've never considered avoiding punishment as a basis of morality. The basis of my morality is the morality of the Catholic Church.
