Or at least some scraps from the Fox News table. I, for one, wouldn't want to be getting on a ship when the rats are running the other way. Even top notch defense attorneys are turning the Trump down, but that might have more to do with Trump's penchant for not paying lawyer bills.

I believe ol' Newty boy is seeking some presidential scraps from the presidential table. You mean like appointing his wife ambassador to the Vatican?Freedom is merely privilege extended, unless enjoyed by one and all. — Billy Bragg

Very clever. Move the worst of it out beyond the time the CBO is allowed to look.
So if the BCRA becomes law it gets worse in 2028 and beyond.
Republicans’ health bill saves its most severe Medicaid cuts for outside the CBO’s scoring window

Peter Smith is the Republican trying to get Hilary Clinton's emails from an unidentified "Dark Web" source. Matt Tait is a computer security expert consulted by Smith.
The Time I Got Recruited to Collude with the Russians
Smith, however, didn’t seem to care. From his perspective it didn’t matter who had taken the emails, or their motives for doing so. He never expressed to me any discomfort with the possibility that the emails he was seeking were potentially from a Russian front...
The combination of Smith’s deep knowledge of the inner workings of the campaign, this document naming him in the Trump campaign group, and the multiple references to needing to avoid campaign reporting suggested to me that the group was formed with the blessing of the Trump campaign.
The story just didn’t make much sensethat is, until the Journal yesterday published the critical fact that U.S. intelligence has reported that Russian hackers were looking to get emails to Flynn through a cut-out during the Summer of 2016, and this was no idle speculation on my part

When I said "he relishes that investigation" ,I feel that all current commentary is in total complete agreement now.
Right, Left, center. CNN just fired 3 reporters over the Russian conspiracy theories. Trump was given a major gift when the Democratic party and intelligence agencies went after him based on hopes for Russian collusion evidence being plausible and certain meeting being solidly convincing as evidence.

This is what happens when you whitewash history, teach religion, defund public schools and want vouchers for religious schools. You end up with "patriotic" Trump supporters who know less about their own country than foreigners do. What an embarrassment to the Republic!

As far back as the 1980's when the Religious Right gained prominence, I could not at all understand their claims that the founding documents, including the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, were based on Christian doctrine.
The Declaration of Independence is an unabashed denunciation of the Divine Right of Kings in which God had placed them in their office so opposing their rule is to oppose God Himself. Furthermore, the ideas that it advocates are the rights of the governed, that they may choose to create their own government to rule themselves for their own benefit. Religious Right propaganda described such ideas as "secular humanism". The Religious Right's political mentors were the Christian Reconstructionists whose goal was to replace the US Constitution with an Old Testament theocracy. Besides theological differences (premillennialism versus postmillennialism), Christian Reconstructionists wanted to use generations of educational efforts to bring the majority of Americans to the point of choosing an Old Testament theocracy -- the home-schooling movement was a major target of theirs to create that new generation. In contrast, the Religious Right wanted to achieve that goal immediately through force of law, whether the citizens wanted it or not. Back in their heyday, a 1980's Christianity Today article quoted prominent Christian Reconstructionists as declaring concepts of human rights as being the products of Satan and of explicitly advocating demanding their own religious liberty in order deprive everybody else of theirs. The Declaration of Independence very clearly advocates human rights. Christian Reconstructionists opposed human rights. Since Christian Reconstructionists were the Religious Right's political mentors, do we need to ask what their position on human rights are? The Christian Reconstructionist movement has been declared extinct, though much of their dream lives on in Dominionists (admittedly the term used by their detractors rather than by themselves), who include Ted Cruz' father and, arguably Ted Cruz himself ... and very likely VP Pence as well. So then, yes, I would think that the actual founding principles of the USA would be antithetical to conservative Christianity.

Here's a great idea! Instead of worrying about Russian meddling why not collaborate? If you can't beat them join them?..WTF?
After President Donald Trump on Sunday said he discussed forming an impenetrable Cyber Security unit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, lawmakers of both political parties wasted little time trashing the proposal, given Russia’s cyberattacks against the U.S. during last year’s election.

When asked for his response on NBC’s Meet the Press, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) chuckled. It’s not the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard, but it’s pretty close, he said of the cybersecurity proposal.

Apparently entrepreneurs with at least $250,000 of start-up funding - from reliable sources - aren't the right kind of people.
Ars Technica Very strange for a supposedly right wing administration.

Email 'linked Kremlin to Trump son meeting' - New York Times
Donald Trump Jr was told that material on Hillary Clinton offered by a Russian lawyer was part of a Russian government effort to help his father's election campaign, the New York Times has said.
Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort also attended.
The pattern has been set. The New York Times runs a story, Trump Jr issues his response, then the noose tightens.
First he said the meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya was about adoption issues. Then the Times reports that Trump Jr thought he would learn damaging information about Hillary Clinton. The presidential son says he was conducting routine opposition research. Then the Times reports that he was told it was the Russian government itself that was coming to his father's aid.

The most interesting part of the article IMO
quote: Say what? "We attempted to meet with agents of a foreign government to get espionage materials collected on H. Clinton, but it did not work out." That's what I hear when I read Jr's statement. What kind of excuse is that? Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison.
