Re: The Mooch
I am surprised no one mentioned the Mooch has already resigned.
Boy, how scuzzy can you be. He didn't even give his two week notice.
Apparently, The Mooch was not even on the job yet.
Scaramucci got fired after 10 days. Before his formal start date.
quote:
Scaramucci began to serve in the role of White House communications director on Friday, July 21, and was due to officially begin August 15. His hiring provoked the immediate resignation of Sean Spicer and the belated ousting of Chief of Staff Reince Priebus on Friday, July 28. (On Thursday, July 27, the New Yorker published reporter Ryan Lizza’s account of a profanity-laced phone call he received from Scaramucci, in which Scaramucci insulted Priebus as a fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac.)
Now he won't be able to claim he had to sell his hedge-fund because of his Whitehouse job. So he will have to pay taxes on the sale proceeds after all.
Sad really.

Boy Scouts dispute Trump claim
Boy Scouts dispute Trump claim that their leader called his speech 'the greatest'
quote:
The Boy Scouts of America is denying President Trump’s claim that the head of the organization told him it was the greatest speech the organization ever heard.
The Chief Scout Executive’s message to the Scouting community speaks for itself, the organization told Time magazine Tuesday.
quote:
Trump said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal last month that the head of the Boy Scouts had called him to thank him for the speech.
And I got a call from the head of the Boy Scouts saying it was the greatest speech that was ever made to them, and they were very thankful, Trump said in the interview, the transcript of which was released by Politico Tuesday.
quote:
Michael Surbaugh, leader of the Boy Scouts of America, apologized last week for the speech, saying that they "sincerely regret that politics were inserted into the Scouting program."
quote:
And by the way, I’d be the first to admit mixed. I’m a guy that will tell you mixed. There was no mix there, Trump said during the interview. That was a standing ovation from the time I walked out to the time I left, and for five minutes after I had already gone. There was no mix.
What a wonderful role model for the youth of America.

No matter how bad Scaramucci's replacement is, the mooch did do some swamp draining. He facilitated three departures in just 10 days, all the while providing fun and laughter. Final grade A-.

I've had this phrase running through my head: "Scaramucci, Scaramucci, can you do the fandango?" He would have had to do it pretty fast.
On the bright side, it shouldn't take long to clean out his desk.

Lol! When prospective employers do their reference checking, I can imagine Kelly saying, "Well, he left a clean desk and did not steal any office supplies. "

Well, considering her affection for alternate facts, I imagine her also saying "he accomplished all his goals while he was here and he was beloved by his co-workers and he loved the president more than anything."

Fake news... or Trump missing the point massively.
Apparently, Trump wants to cut down legal immigration by something like 50%.
quote:
Trump cast the proposal as a way to protect American workers by reducing unskilled immigration and creating a merit-based system that grades possible immigrants based on their ability to work in the United States.
"It has not been fair to our people, to our citizens, to our workers," Trump said of the current immigration system, specifically citing low-income and minority workers.
Really? Is that where the complaints have been coming from. Low-income and minority workers are complaining that they cannot get $8.50 per hour jobs cleaning hotel rooms? Surely not.
From a policy position, don't we need younger workers to compensate for the boomer and post boomer-driven aging of our population? Or is this just alt-Right crap ala Bannon to stave off the browning of America?
quote:
Trump backed the effort from Republican Sens. David Perdue and Tom Cotton in a speech at the White House. But the plan faces long odds in Congress.
Tom Cotton? Yeah, I should hope this plan faces long odds.

In fact, they are so hard to get that they don't even try to apply for them, forcing the Don to hire immigrant workers.
quote:
Trump is looking to hire 78 servers, housekeepers, and cooks for his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach and the nearby Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, according to Federal labor records.
As he has for years, the Republican presidential nominee filed this month to import foreign workers for the jobs instead of hiring Americans, Buzzfeed News first reported Wednesday.
Department of Labor records show Trump has sought H-2 visas for hundreds of foreigners to fill temporary positions at the two properties in recent years.

Trump lying like a rug...
Trump claims that the president of Mexico called him to congratulate him on immigration policy and that the Boy Scouts of America called him to say that Trump had given the greatest speech ever made to them.
Both the president of Mexico and the Boy Scouts deny every making those calls.
Today the White House press secretary says that the phone call from the president of Mexico was actually an in person discussion. That correction came after the Mexican president told us he made no such call.
The chief of the Boy Scouts actually apologized for Trump's speech and says that he made no such call. There has been no explanation at all for this apparent discrepancy.

What the goal should be...
I think the goal of every thinking American citizen should be to make sure Trump remains President for the rest of his first term but simply ignore anything he tries to do. Leave him in office but just pretend that the Executive Branch of Government does not exist for the next 3+ years. Let him continue to make a fool of himself, to tweet like the twit he is, to sign lots of Executive Orders but simply treat them like preschooler drawing and put then on the refrigerator door.
Just say "How interesting Donald? Did you do that all by yourself? I bet you worked really hard at it."

While I agree with the sentiment, I see the damage his appointees are trying to unleash on the various federal agencies. America is stuck between a bad and a worse place and the destruction of our government and society that has begun under these traitors may be unrepairable, ever.

Re: What the goal should be...
As long as the crap they try simply gets ignored we will survive. And so far it seems in most states even the Republican Governors have sense enough to ignore what the President and his henchmen try to do. There are exception like Texas where the current government is as evil as the Trump Administration but even there there is push back at the local levels with Chiefs of Police and Mayors saying "Hell no!"
