New UBB Code: [bgcolor]
Announcing a new UBB code: [bgcolor]
With this UBB code you can change the background color of your text, even in mid-sentence. You can even change to a light background and dark text. Click on the edit link of this message to see how this is done, or see What are UBB Codes? for more information.

Announcing yet another new UBB code: [blockcolor]

[bgcolor] only provides a new background color behind text. Where's there's no text, for example at the end of lines and between paragraphs, you get the original background color. This background color has a ragged right edge that aligns with the ragged right edge of the text.
[blockcolor] provides a rectangular area of background color. I'm using it right now to set the background color of this message to powderblue, and I'm using the [color] UBB code to set the text color to black. You can use the [bgcolor] UBB code to change the background color for just the text while inside a [blockcolor] region. See What are UBB Codes? for more information.

Message, Thread and Forum Links
Three new tags that allow easy creation of links to messages, threads and forums have just been released:
  • [msg]
  • [thread]
  • [forum]
To create a link to a message in the current thread, use the [msg] tag with the message number like this:
[msg=16]
Creates this link:
To create a link to a message in another thread of the same forum, include both the thread number and the message number, in that order, like this:
[msg=66,14]
Creates this link:
To create a link to a message in a thread in a different forum, include the forum number, the thread number, and the message number, in that order, like this:
[msg=5,423,6]
Creates this link:
To exclude the message subtitle from the link name, include a minus sign in front of the message number. To leave out the thread link, include a minus sign in front of the thread number. To leave out the forum link, include a minus sign in front of the forum number. If we take the previous example and prefix the numbers with minus signs:
[msg=-5,-423,-6]
Creates this link:
To create a link to a thread in the same forum, do this:
[thread=18]
Creates this link:
To create a link to a thread in a different forum, include both the forum number and the thread number, in that order, like this:
[thread=7,81]
Creates this link:
To exclude the word "Thread" or the forum link, include minus signs like this:
[thread=-7,-81]
Creates this link:
Create a link to a forum like this:
[forum=9]
Creates this link:
To exclude the word "Forum", include a minus sign like this:
[forum=-9]
Creates this link:
[forum=-9]
