Jumping off of a bridge is analogous to a Leap Of Faith. Perhaps after observation of the behavior of others, you concluded early on in life that faith was not a good trait to possess.

I agree that it would be just fine to give Intelligent Design the same kind of speculation and pass that the SETI Institute gets in the science books. But I highly doubt that many ID folks would like the result; any such coverage would surely be highly dismissive.However, with regards to testability, none of those things you mentioned is taught as a theory with the exception of evolution, which of course is testable to the point of being a theory. I assume that the theory of evolution is what you refer to as Darwinism, but I cannot be sure.

Got an example that applies to evolution science and not some fantasy about what evolution is? What about abiogenesis - as practiced by scientists - is not testable? Are not all the experiments they are doing tests of concept? Just askin ... Really, marc, you've been around here long enough to know that the science is called evolution and that the scientists study and test evolution concepts. At best "Darwinism" was the beginning of the science of evolution, but the science does not depend on Darwin, it depends on facts and evidence of evolution.You should also know by now that using "Darwinism" just exhibits your ignorance and failure to understand.Enjoy

There are a couple of bridges I know of that are used by kids to jump off into the river in the summer.They line up, and the biggest danger is landing on top of someone else.Enjoy

The point Phat is that a leap of Faith is made without evidence. However in most instances there actually is some evidence. AIG's strategy is not based on Faith but rather on denial of available evidence. That is called a Leap of Stupidity.

A leap of faith would be jumping off the bridge without knowing how deep the water is. If you're honest, you wouldn't do it either. Your whole leap-of-faith analogy is just a copout.
