As Fox News has shown, there is group of Americans who will believe anything if it fits their biases.
Honestly, this kind of confirmation bias applies to most of us. The tendency to believe what confirms what you "already know" is a very strong one that requires active self-examination and investigation to combat. Most folks don't even try.
Only a semi-scientific approach has any chance of getting the answer right. If instead you are used to accepting what you see on youtube videos and infomercials, you have zero hope of getting stuff right.
