There doesn't seem to be an existing thread for this since i'm barred from the Trump Presidency thread and my old Fake News thread is in Summation Mode. But I have two bits of unrelated news to report anyway so I'm going to dub this a general news thread.
(CNN)First lady Melania Trump fired back at the anonymous source that stunned the White House with a New York Times op-ed Wednesday.
"Freedom of speech is an important pillar of our nation's founding principles and a free press is important to our democracy. The press should be fair, unbiased and responsible," she told CNN in a statement Thursday.
The first lady had a specific message for the author: "To the writer of the op-ed -- you are not protecting this country, you are sabotaging it with your cowardly actions."
The op-ed author was identified as a "senior Trump administration official" who says they are part of an internal "resistance" working to thwart parts of Trump's agenda and block his worst impulses and was published amid questions of President Donald Trump's fitness and his control over his administration.
The first lady's reaction mirrors that of her husband, who on Wednesday called the author "gutless."
"Unidentified sources have become the majority of the voices people hear about in today's news. People with no names are writing our nation's history. Words are important, and accusations can lead to severe consequences," she added. "If a person is bold enough to accuse people of negative actions, they have a responsibility to publicly stand by their words and people have the right to be able to defend themselves."
The problem is that a lot of people think what this anonymous insider is doing in "resisting" the President is acceptable these days. This is one big reason I think the world is about to come under a nightmare of a global political totalitarianism.

Macron was given several jars of honey a traditional Jewish gift for Rosh Hashanah to symbolize a sweet new year.
Should there be a Rapture of the Church on Rosh Hashanah, scripture seems to show that the Jews will again be the focus of God's work in the world, and it's going to involve a lot of persecution as well as a lot of glory in the end. Rapture or no, the Jews need all the prayers they can get.
I haven't been following Alex Jones for some time though I do get his emails so I can see what stories he's headlining. Lately he's been talking about being under censorship from various angles. Now there's a story about Twitter banning him.
I just saw this headline and don't have time to read through the story right now, but whatever you think of Jones, and he can be a bit of a madman, attempts to silence him are to my mind a harbinger of the kind of totalitarian oppression I see coming down the pike. He's not the only target either.
Anyone here willing to stand up for Jones' right to free speech or is silencing him and undermining Trump the new standard of free speech applauded by you all?
So Jones was booted off for posting a video of himself berating someone, a CNN reporter:

That video showed Jones berating CNN journalist Oliver Darcy for some 10 minutes in between two congressional hearings on social media. Dorsey testified at both hearings, but did not appear to witness the confrontation. Jones had about 900,000 followers on Twitter. Infowars had about 430,000. Jones did not immediately respond to a request for comment.p
Don't really get how this is "abuse." He thinks he said something meaningful to the CNN guy.
He's got almost a million followers, and Infowars half a million. Isn't that the real reason they want to ban him? He's got views they don't like and too many other people do like them.
This idea that Facebook and Twitter are private businesses is just a big excuse. Like Google they are so huge they should be classed as public venues, and in that category they are suppressing free speech when they ban one guy out of bazillions who happened to have a big following and doesn't toe their party line.
It's really really OK though, really really good, when people berate Trump endlessly in public venues.
It's funny how simply getting a word in edgewise has become nearly impossible in this time of a blanketing of all the media with anti-Trump messages, and an anonymous "resister" is applauded, all in an obvious attempt at a coup engineered by a bunch of a conspirators out of view who have power with the media, and of course it's the drowned-out voices that are accused of promoting blind obedience? This is so clever I'm in awe.
Has it ever crossed your mind that there is all this criticism of Trump because he is a bad president?
Gosh NO!. Golly what a revelation. The point is half the country voted for the man and still support him and we NEVER hear from THEM on the in-your-face media.
True, I usually don't go out of my way to watch any news source these days, I'm talking about the "in-your-face" media reports that I have no way of avoiding, They are there every time I open Yahoo to check my email, or if I happen on a network news program, not by trying I assure you, there they are with their nonstop Trump bashing.
