Faith writes: Another one: the Bible reading program was at Joshua 6:22 when I turned it on, describing how the Israelites brought Rahab and her family out of Jericho before destroying it. Well quite apart from seeing no connection with that and the rapture, why are you at all surprised if you're regularly turning on scripture radio and making connections with the end times? The bloody book is full of it. But if you'd bothered to read the science of confirmation bias - which, I prophecy you never will - you'd know about positive bias. You are looking only for confirmation, you are not looking to disprove your hypothesis; you're not counting the times when you switch the radio on and even you can't make a connection. So all you get are positive hits. Those negative hits will disprove your hypothesis. But in your case, you won't recognise them nor will you count them.
You can't be thinking about the actual phenomena going on here in trying to reduce it to ordinary confirmation bias. Yes I can. It's an absolutely beautiful example of it. The thing is, you're hyper-sensitised to seeing these omens in everything. You spelled them all out for us. BUT despite all that it didn't actually happen. It wasn't what you thought it was. You were wrong. There's no stronger proof than that. But of course, you're now making excuses for it - as we predicted you would. Typically the failure to predict what happens, simply makes the belief stronger. You're doing exactly that - as predicted. And the below is another perfect example of how people rationalise away this failure and come think that it's better that way.
By the way I've started thinking of these things as much more personal messages to me than before: leave this world and its toys behind, this world that is doomed to destruction anyway, and come seek Me with all your heart. I'd already realized that if the Rapture didn't happen that's the direction I should go in anyway. The whole experience, wondering if I was really ready, am I an "overcomer" or not and so on, woke me up to the need for a more serious pursuit of God. So despite the disappointment it's probably a good thing it didn't happen yet. There you go, failure all explained away perfectly for you. No problem here. And why the fuck Phat is cheering this perfect example of delusional behaviour is totally beyond me... Edited by Tangle, : No reason given.Je suis Charlie. Je suis Ahmed. Je suis Juif. The precision of the happenstance makes it more than confirmation bias.

Faith writes: The precision of the happenstance makes it more than confirmation bias. Yes Faith that's what you believe. But I have to remind you that you were proven wrong by the fact that, despite how precise you say the 'happenstance' was, it didn't actually happen. Moreover, I predicted it wouldn't and told you what your reaction would be when it didn't happen. That's something that even you can't deny. Well maybe you'll try.Je suis Charlie. Je suis Ahmed. Faith writes: From what can be observed here, the Christ you're following doesn't seem much interested in goodness, but more in xenophobia, homophobia, suffering, inequality and intolerance. Are you sure you have an accurate read on how Christ wants you to conduct your life?
Perfect litany of Political Correctness. It's no surprise that you equate goodness with political correctness.
You misrepresent everything I've said of course. I don't think so. Isn't it true that you're against immigration, against LGBT rights, against affordable health care for everyone, against racial equality, and against anyone different from yourself?
Pretty clear though that the end times are upon us when people talk like this. And yet as Tangle has pointed out and as is bloody obvious to everyone since everyone including you is still here, your end times prediction was dead wrong. Throughout history all end times predictions have been dead wrong. That's because your religious beliefs are dead wrong. --Percy

No. Perfect misrepresentation, perfect political correctness. Pack of pernicious PC lies. I'm against illegal uncontrolled immigration, I'm against gay marriage not against general rights for gays, I'm absolutely in favor of racial equality, what an idiotic accusation to say I'm not, and I'm against Omamacare because of what I've been told about its costs and its policies. You've simply ignored everything I've laboriously argued on all these subjects, of course, because that's what Political Correctness does. And you will continue to misrepresent and smear me because that's what Political Correctness does. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Oh the end times are definitely upon us whether the Rapture timing is off or not. The Rapture will come eventually, but the signs of the end times have been proliferating for decades, actually speeding up in recent years. Those signs point mostly to the condition of the world that will prevail after the Rapture, totalitarian tyranny on a global scale, then God's Wrath.

Faith if you are only against illegal uncontrolled immigration then why did you write this: Message 310
Immigration part of conspiracy to destroy Christian civlization
I’d be very surprised if that was limited to illegal immigration.

Illegal immigration is my concern in relation to the US at the moment. But that quote relates mostly to what is going on in Europe, and it may be that they are crazy enough to legally invite suicide.

Or maybe Chris Pinto is a raving Islamophobe. (Or maybe worse. Who does he say is behind this conspiracy ? International Bankers?)
Nevertheless describing immigration as part of conspiracy to destroy Christian civilisation seems like sufficient reason to doubt the idea that you are only against illegal immigration.

If I thought we'd legally support immigration policies that would clearly destroy our culture then I'd oppose that too.
Interesting how people who are concerned about such things as preserving our culture, which includes our Constitution, are now the target of accusations of such PC epithets as "Islamophobia" and so on. Actually we SHOULD be afraid of Islam. The sad thing is that people deny that it is a totalitarian power-hungry ideology that won't stop until it's subjugated the entire world. I think I also mentioned Janet Mefford who wrote a chapter for the book "The Coming Pagan Utopia" and she might be the source of that quote. But it could be Pinto. They are both heroes in the battle to save western civilization in my view. Where is the conspiracy coming from? Well, the UN is one source. Mefford talked about one UN policy that would greatly aid the Islamic Caliphate. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

quote: And what policies would those be ?
quote: Religious freedom is part of the Constitution, remember ? Amazing how some people object to the truth.
quote: I’m sure that you are always sad when people aren’t fooled by your propaganda. But thanks for providing more evidence of raving Islamophobia.

Religious freedom under our Constitution is for people who live here, it isn't an invitation to others to come here and destroy our culture. It is a twisted perversion you are promoting, which is in fact right in line with the global conspiracy to kill western civilization. I desperately care about a lot of people who are going to be subjected to the Islamic tyranny if thinking like yours prevails. I'm not talking about Christians by the way, but ordinary simple people just going about their lives without a clue to what the powers-that-be are brewing up against them.

quote: In other words you want to deny religious freedom to some - there’s nothing in your Constitution saying that it doesn’t apply to would-be immigrants in their dealings with the government.
quote: There’s no twisting on MY part.
quote: The tyranny you want is hardly likely to be better. So why should I support that against a largely imaginary threat ? (A threat quite likely concocted to encourage a move towards tyranny)

I don't think so. Isn't it true that you're against immigration, against LGBT rights, against affordable health care for everyone, against racial equality, and against anyone different from yourself? No. Perfect misrepresentation, perfect political correctness. Pack of pernicious PC lies. So I was wrong? You're actually for immigration, for LGBT rights, for affordable health care for everyone, for racial equality, and for diversity? However did I pick up such misimpressions?
I'm against illegal uncontrolled immigration,... Who isn't. So immigration of Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, pagans, atheists and LGBT's is fine by you?
...I'm against gay marriage not against general rights for gays,... I said LGBT, but speaking of gays, how is denying wedding cakes and marriage to gays not denying them a right? How is denying transgender bathroom rights not denying them a right? How is banning transgender people from the military not denying them a right?
...I'm absolutely in favor of racial equality,... So you condemn the white nationalist/supremicist march in Charlottesville last year, and you condemn Trump's failure to condemn it?
...and I'm against Obamacare... So you're for affordable health care, but you're against Obamacare which provides affordable healthcare.
...because of what I've been told about its costs and its policies. You were told wrong. Obamacare was carefully designed to make sure the insurance pool was not overwhelmed by unhealthy people by requiring everyone to have healthcare, including a penalty for not having healthcare. You don't actually want affordable healthcare - you just want to make excuses for why it isn't possible. Healthcare can be made affordable - the Trump tax cut is what we actually can't afford.
You've simply ignored everything I've laboriously argued on all these subjects, of course, because that's what Political Correctness does. I think I understand you pretty well, including your tendency to lash out at people who understand you pretty well.

It's interesting that being dead wrong only deepens your conviction that you're right. Most people consider incorrect predictions as evidence that something is wrong with the underlying premises, but for you the opposite is true. --Percy

But I pray for you as I would pray for my enemies. You are the enemy who seethes with hatred toward me. Your every word is attempted murder. Dude. Seriously. Chill. You are going from merely silly to outrageous absurdity! He is rather politely pointing out the general silliness of your latest position (He was entirely right, and you were demonstrably wrong), and you equate his disagreement to attempted murder? Faith! Get a grip.
Anyone who talks to a person on a forum the way you do should be severely punished, but you won't be will you? No, Faith, he won't be. Again, the threats and venom that drip from your mouth always just make me ever grateful that you were not in power 500 years ago when the church still had some political credibility. Free speech is a bedrock of American democracy. You should read the First Amendment sometime. Maybe read it just after you read Deuteronomy or Leviticus to contrast fundamental American values with Old Testament Theocracy. Hint: America wins. "...heck is a small price to pay for the truth"
