You can be quite abrupt and rude to Biblical Christians...particularly I CANT and jaywill. If you were ever likely to shoot anyone it would be one of them
Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. For science and philosophy to continue to advance in knowledge, chance must be demythologized once and for all. —RC Sproul "A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." —Mark Twain " ~"If that's not sufficient for you go soak your head."~Faith You can "get answers" by watching the ducks. Hi Porkncheese,
Welcome to EvC.
Pork writes: I hope it changes but unfortunately the greed of politicians eclipses everything I think. Without a powerful opposition to the NRA there's little chance probs. You don't understand much about how our country works. Our founding fathers had come to the US from Europe where their friends and relatives had been killed by a State Church because they dared to believe different from the State Church. They were burned at the stake, boiled in oil and many other forms of death. When they came to America they were still under the same government but did not have a State Church. They fought a war with England to gain their independence. We do not have a democracy as you may have heard we do. We have a Republic made up of 50 states, with each state having equal representation in the Senate. It makes no difference the population of the State. That has a Constitution and a Bill of rights. To change the second amendment would require 37.5 States to ratify a change to the Constitution. That means 13 states could block any change to the Constitution. There are those that propose to repeal the 2nd amendment. That would take 38 states to ratify such a change,. So the NRA is the not the problem. Getting 38 stats to ratify doing away with the second amendment is the problem. God Bless,"John 5:39 (KJS) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

Also mind you, in 66 years I've only seen one handgun in civilian hands.
perhaps you might enjoy a trip to a range. These are what I'm taking out in a few minutes:

Hi jar,
jar writes: Learn to read. Please point out where I said anything about shooting to wound. In message 308 you said:
quote: If a person is pointing a gun at you how do you intend to stop him/her without killing them? Are you going to talk him/her to death? Remember you got less than a second to make up your mind. Then you have been shot. You may be dead or you could have survived the first shot but would you be able to return fire? I choose to stay alive and will shoot anyone who starts to point a weapon at me. And I don't need your approval to do so. God Bless,"John 5:39 (KJS) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

ICANT writes: If a person is pointing a gun at you how do you intend to stop him/her without killing them? Are you going to talk him/her to death? I intend to stop the threat. Really, that is it. How the threat stops is up to the person initiating the threat. If a stern talking is sufficient then that is great by me.
ICANT writes: I choose to stay alive and will shoot anyone who starts to point a weapon at me. And I don't need your approval to do so. I too hope to stay alive and to stay unhurt and to not be inconvenienced. There is a difference between military training and civilian training. In the military it is reasonable to train to kill; as a civilian though the emphasis should be on avoiding anyone getting killed. The goal is to avoid the situation where a gun ever gets pointed at you.

I only have one Sig left but owned a 226, 225 and a 2009 as well. The 226 was amazingly accurate.
The only Sig I have left is a 230 and I cannot imagine not having it in rotation.
The indoor range is closed today but I'll likely go tomorrow.

jar writes: You really need to stop posting really stupid comments Percy. Apparently, calling arguments stupid is rebuttal to you.
I have not bragged about how great I am with guns. You should read your own messages. Why don't you tell us again how you store your guns and ammo safely and separately, how no one else has access to them, how careful you are, how often you go to the shooting range and practice, how you sometimes have a trainer give you feedback, how you never rely on the safety, how you always assume there's a round in the chamber, and on and on.
And yes, I have never said that it has any relationship to any problems in general in the US. Regardless of what you have never said, you *are* part of the gun problem in the US.
Percy writes: Is it impossible for your guns to discharge and harm someone? Is it impossible for a gun to be taken from you? Is it impossible that you would ever be overcome by sadness, depression, insanity, etc? Is it impossible one of your guns could malfunction? Is it impossible you would ever misjudge a situation and harm an innocent person? And what is the point of carrying a gun if it's impossible it could ever do someone harm? It serves the same function as my car, it is something that provides comfort and protection to me. If it's impossible that your guns could ever do someone harm, how could they protect you? How could you ever shoot them before they shoot you if your guns can't harm them? I'm sure your guns are a great comfort to you, but it is a false comfort because they actually place you (and those around you) in greater danger.
And the malfunction possible with a gun is that it does NOT fire. I never mentioned gun malfunctions. Everything I mentioned was a Jar malfunction.
And I train to try to make sure I do NOT harm an innocent person. There you go bragging again about how safe you are with guns. If you want to make 100% certain you don't harm an innocent person then leave your guns locked up at home. Once you carry your guns out of the house that 100% certainty drops. --Percy

yeah the 226 is so easy to shoot well. The one in the picture is in 9mm but i also have one in .357 SIG that I don't shoot often enough cause:
1. .357 SIG is expensive 2. .357 SIG is hard to find 3. .357 SIG is not fun to shoot.
