You can keep the credit for yourselves if you choose, but I am not as optimistic about the human potential to autocorrect as you are.
Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. For science and philosophy to continue to advance in knowledge, chance must be demythologized once and for all. —RC Sproul "A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." —Mark Twain " ~"If that's not sufficient for you go soak your head."~Faith You can "get answers" by watching the ducks. And I am not optimistic at all about some alien overlord whispering in people's ears to "save" humanity. Y'know why? Because it ain't workin'. Believers are not better people than unbelievers. I am not as optimistic about the human potential to autocorrect as you are. On the other hand, auto-correction is working. And our geese will blot out the sun.

ringo writes: When something good happens, you give God the credit but when something bad happens, you blame us. Faith says that if something described in the Bible was done by God or at the behest of God then it is good, even if otherwise it would have been judged bad. Phat says that if something bad happens then it's our fault or at least we deserved it. If something good happens, God did it. Combining these two views we reach this conclusion: if anything God does is good then things that seem bad might actually be good, since God might have done them. Since we can never know what God did or didn't do, we can never know whether anything is good or bad. This is an absurd conclusion and means the original premises are also absurd. --Percy

ISIS murders "infidels," God punishes sin, sin of both believers and unbelievers.

Faith says God is in everything that happens and that He can not act unjustly.
Psalm 139:7-8 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. {"evil" in the sense of calamity or catastrophe like 9/11} Amos 3:6 ... shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

ISIS murders "infidels," God punishes sin, sin of both believers and unbelievers. No matter. However much lipstick you put on that pig, both your version of God and theirs leaves butchered babies and pregnant mothers bleeding out on the desert floor. You truly never tire of defending religious genocide? "...heck is a small price to pay for the truth"

Your own quotes say that God creates evil. How do you reconcile justice with evil? Faith says God is in everything that happens and that He can not act unjustly. And our geese will blot out the sun.

The problem is your inability to distinguish between murder and judgment as is usually the case in these discussions.

By not twisting the word as you do and ignoring the sense in which it was used, as I clearly indicated.

That doesn't address the issue. You're saying that God is just all of the time and evil part of the time. That seems to imply that justice can be evil. That isn't a very attractive justice. The problem is your inability to distinguish between murder and judgment as is usually the case in these discussions. So when when ISIS leaves dead babies behind it's murder; when Christians or Jews do it it's Justice. Got it. You know who else can't comprehend that fine line you draw? The uncomprehending dead babies bleeding into the sand. You are one cold mother..."...heck is a small price to pay for the truth"

When ISIS kills people it is absolutely murder. When God ordains death it is often judgment, although scripture also says He has other reasons, even the reason of sparing the righteous something worse.
You unbelievers are so self-righteous. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.
