I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys. I know very many of you do not live in the U.S., but it's still nice once in a while to pause and reflect on our luck and our lives.
At the same time, I personally feel a deep sorrow for all the people whose lives have been ravaged by the wildfires in California this week. If you have an opportunity to help please do. That's what America used to do.
Anyway, my year has been fulfilling and fun and I am very thankful to have made it.
Cheers

Thanks
I'm extremely thankful that I don't live in the country where, under a plurality and not a majority, Hair Furour got elected as President.

In a reflective mood I wrote my Thanksgiving laudation yesterday on another thread. Permit me to copy it here.
--------------------
Remember how many times over the years (decades?) so many people had said this site was doomed and was soon to dry up and blow into the oblivion of Internet fora past? And yet here we still be.
We have smart people, crazy people, jokesters, serious intellects, demented fools, all with a wide breadth of opinion, fantasy and humor.
This place takes a lot of work to maintain, police and keep right. The moderation team (that's you and yours, Phat) are key to keeping this place viable and such a frustrating, maddening, satisfying, discussion forum.
Percy should feel quite proud of what he created.
Thanksgiving (for the USA) is tomorrow and one of the small things I am thankful for is this site.
--------------------
Thank you, Tany. Hug the children.

A happy Thanksgiving to my fellow citizens and to those living in our borders, and my very best wishes to everyone else whoever they are, wherever they live.
I feel sad as I remember those who are experiencing serious difficulties, and hope for the best for them.
I feel glad for those who are currently in happy circumstances.
Me, my holiday is peaceful and pleasant with no complaints.

One thing to be thankful for is the right to complain. As long as you have the right to complain, you have the potential to make things better.

I am thankful that all our American offices are closed today and tomorrow; thus seriously reducing the number of stupid new requests I receive from salespeople.
You should try this public holiday thing more often.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all.
I am also thankful for EvC for giving me an opportunity to think through what I believe and try to express it to unbelievers, also for growing a pretty tough hide on me in the process.
And I'm very very grateful for this country I live in, and for this current administration which, whatever its faults, saved us from something so much worse I am tearfully grateful that God is having mercy on us even in the midst of judging us for our sins. Lincoln said the same about his time too, the Civil War being God's judgment on the nation for slavery, though he found many blessings even in the midst of it. EvC Forum: The Right Side of the News

May God forgive you for the sin of electing that thing in tha White House.

Happy belated T.G. to all!
I am just back to work and really enjoyed having several days off stuffing my face with pies, potatos, Turkey, ham, gravy and beers.
