What Would Jesus Declare In 2019?
The issue goes far deeper than what Jesus declared. It goes to the very heart of social interaction. It is not simply clean vs unclean. It is globalists vs nationalists. It is the US vs the World. It was the insiders(Jews) vs the outsiders(gentiles) back then, and it is now more than pigs and shellfish vs organic.

Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. For science and philosophy to continue to advance in knowledge, chance must be demythologized once and for all. —RC Sproul

Subjectivism may very well undermine Christianity.

Looking back over the posts, I have seen nothing but opinions based on faulty human philosophy. For me, the Bible is the final authority.
Even if true, the book is still interpreted differently by different people. There is not simply one group of enlightened ones who know what Gods full revelation to humanity means. If so, why even stick to the book? Say a heartfelt prayer and ask Him what you should type to us next. We need fresh manna.

A Cult Is A Cult
AZPaul3 writes:
Just disappointed at how many people are so willing to forfeit reality for fantasy, especially when those fantasies involve so much exclusivity and inclinations towards violence.
Doesn't matter how many of which cults gathered at Nicaea, a few of which had to travel under the Emperor's guarantee of protection lest the other cults kill them. A cult is a cult. They were, and still are, all cults.
No sooner had the various factions departed Nicaea when the violence flared again, cult vs cult, christian vs christian, christian vs everybody else.
One thing I do notice is the fervor with which some people have to spread Christianity and an equal fervor to discredit it. No ordinary myth had such high pitched battles between human factions. I don't seek to forfeit reality. Granted I have my preferred fantasies and entitlements which I ask God to provide, but I am also no dummy. I see the spiritual war in everyday life. I get frustrated with some of my fellow Christians for being such able salesmen for Satan, despite their beliefs, and I too often come across more on the opposing team than on TEAM: Jesus, but as long as EvC survives, I will be here attempting to formulate arguments that make sense. Do keep challenging me though. I need critics and skeptics more than I need cheerleaders!
The exclusivity and inclinations toward violence coming from Christians highlight the spiritual war that I believe we are in. Call it a persecution complex. The scriptures predict that if I get stronger (and according to my critics, more irrational in regards to my beliefs,) I will become less popular than if I showed signs of rational enlightenment. My hope is that everyone at least understands that I am not desperately grabbing at straws. My subjective experience has been strong.
Pray that I find reality and let go of the fantasy which our culture is feeding me.

Re: A Cult Is A Cult
And you know this how? You cant reframe subjective experience for others nor can you predict the results of their belief...conduct your own experiments and resulting conclusions. Granted some of what i believe is fantasy. But jusy because it works for you to say that God is fiction does not mean that your conclusion becomes global reality.

Re: A Cult Is A Cult
This video showed a thoughtful point of view very similar to your own. The argument is sound and logical. I dont agree with it but am beginning to understand the logic and reasoning which led you to your chosen conclusions. We truly become the decisions we make. We are not mere logs floating downstream. We can choose to attempt fighting our way upstream in order to spawn new ideas and creativity. I just get offended when you call it fantasy. On my mind you have no business there.

Your error is in assuming that existence of God can be disproven mathematically. Neither of us will win that one, despite our claims.
