Re: Senate Resolution to Condemn Trump on Foreign Policy
No, this is a concerted attempt to bring down Trump and everything and anything negative that they can conjure up or inflate or outright invent will do for that purpose.
That is correct. And the sooner the better.
There's no freedom of the press here, there's no other side ever expressed ...
Of course there is, Love. You have, and have listed, many demented fascist right wing sources of lies and hatred while the Enlightened Left tries to educate and inform all through the same media technology. Neither Tucker Carlson nor Rachel Maddow are in any threat from this government for their musings.
This whole discussion, on the internet, on the radio/TV, in the papers and the political rags of all stripes, widely disseminated on the national stage, is precisely what freedom of the press produces.
And a national consensus is building because of it.
Trump needs to be kicked in the ass as he is booted from the Oval Office.
I wish you'd all wake up and see what's going on but I guess that isn't going to happen.
We are awake, Dear Lady. This is exactly what we want to happen. Skewer the alt-right, jab the fundies and belittle the insanely hateful conservative. And have them do the same to us.

Re: Senate Resolution to Condemn Trump on Foreign Policy
disqualify all who voted for him, essentially relegating us to the Gulag of PC opprobrium or the social death penalty, destroy America's freedoms and Constitution and make us a Leftist dictatorship of Third World stature.
No, none of that will happen from this. We just get rid of that pompous ass.
Besides, nullifying a vote for office is allowed in the Constitution.
That process was deliberately structured into our system so that we would not have to suffer long the inanities of a narcissist, and in this case, a really stupid one at that.
If you bring an umbrella I'll bring some coffees. See you on the breadline. Does it have to be moldy bread? Can't we go for bagels with various spreads?

or provoking an uprising or a civil war?
Yeah. The inevitable re-arising of the fascist right.
we lived through Obama
Y'all are really stuck on Obama, The Evil OneTM.
Maybe you haven't understood what's happened. Obama has retired and no longer affects world or national events. He can't hurt you anymore. The Muslim armies have left the national parks.
He's done more than most Presidents ...
Understatement for sure. None of it good for the country or for the world. Except, I suppose his bank account is good with all the "events" the government is paying enormously inflated prices to stage at his own resorts. Too bad those four casinos he bankrupted weren't still in business. They'd (He'd) be raking in even more of our public money.
And I suppose the 1% got it good since he presented them with the largest fat cat billionaire tax cut in all of our national history.
The rest of us got nothing except higher costs, lower wages, national-, international- and intergalactic-shame and the spectacle of watching our government kill little brown children who slipped across the boarder illegally with their parents.

Re: Senate Resolution to Condemn Trump on Foreign Policy
But such charm always gives way easily to hatred of those you are buttering up when they fail to appreciate it as you would like them to, but when they do appreciate it and think you really like them then they are treated to a lot of faultfinding. Or in this case sheer hatred for my political opinions.
Oh, M'lady. I will try harder to not upset your gentle constitution vis-a-vis any personal feelings.
But, Love, your politics, religion, philosophy, world view are not just different from mine or different from the majority but are evil and down right dangerous to our species as a whole.
And I suppose I'm saying THIS now because I don't want to sound like I hate YOU, I just want you to stop.
I will do my best. But I am who I am so I may not always succeed. Forgive me.

Re: Senate Resolution to Condemn Trump on Foreign Policy
Well I did try to warn you that I might stray. Just a bit.
No, I can't hate you honestly or otherwise.
It's just that some people have such disastrously bad ideas they need to be questioned, then ridiculed.
You seem to reach that stage quite often.
But, no, I will not hate on you. I may laugh or roll my eyes at you but I will not hate you.

The river is already a physical barrier.
But, you know, those little brown people can swim. Even the kids.
This portion of the wall needs to be more of a moat type thing ... with piranhas, backstopped by high barbed-wire fencing and gun towers. Maybe some land mines.

Re: The Deal to Reopen the Government is Still a Bad One for America
it would have to be heavily manned along its entire length at an even greater cost than for the wall itself, a cost that would never end.
You know they would contract that out to the private sector ... who would hire in cheap illegals to man the positions.

Some time ago I asked if you like Pink Floyd, you said no.
So I dialed down a bit. You do know Simon & Garfuncle, yes?

Re: The Deal to Reopen the Government is Still a Bad One for America
Never underestimate the profit motive and its conflicted efficiencies in American capitalism.
If we could start a wall building company and get the contract we might be able to do our first bankruptcy before the first quarter mile is planted. Trump would recognize that as from his play book. Certainly he would be proud.

Yeah, Pat's finally hit the end zone. 10-3 mid-fourth quarter.
I'm in it for the game, not the hype, so up comes the music during breaks.
And now the game is over. Pats did it. Time to bring up some Queen.

Did someone mention voter fraud?
Except this is more of a votee fraud thing.
Texas Republicans claim to have found 95,000 illegal voters.
They did this by comparing lists of names on recent voter rolls with rolls of registered non-citizens at Texas Department of Public Safety ... going back 22 years.
Yes.
So a non-citizen of some 20+- years ago somehow, inexplicable, ended up voting in the last election. How could that possibly be?
Inquiring minds want to know ...
... so they can purge the voter rolls of these potentially fraudulent registrations which are predominantly Hispanic surnames and might, potentially, vote other than republican.
It took a lot of people a lot of time to go from non-citizen to citizen legally, morally, ethically and now the Texas Republican Party tries to screw-up their right to vote.
