Please help me I'm going insane... and we are currently on vacation in Cancun, Mexico.
My brain can't wrap around the concept of a higher physical dimension than our 3 dimensional world. I'm about to lose it. Please help me!

If you say the word "gullible" slowly, it sounds like oranges. Go ahead and try it.

This video does a pretty decent job of explaining the concept:

If you’re in Cancun, just try more tequila.

Two to three vs. three to four
It’s generally believed that we three dimensional critters can’t visualize or get an intuitive insight (“wrap our heads around”) a four dimensional world (at least while sober). But the best way to approach an understanding might be to go in the opposite direction and visualize life in a two dimension world. There are several good books that do this, such as The Planiverse: Computer Contact with a Two-Dimensional World by A. K. Dewdney. There is an earlier one, and maybe the best one whose name i remember as Mr. Thompson Visits Flatland or something like that. I can’t find any reference to that so I probably have the name wrong and perhaps someone on this blog has the right reference. By seeing how three dimensional beings view beings living in a two dimensional world, you might gain some insight into how a four dimension being might view things. The next step is to imagine living in a one dimensional world. You would only ever see two other beings, and one of them would be your mother. Social media would be very limited.

go from simple to complex, first you have one point, then you have 2 points limiting a line, then you have 4 lines limiting a square, then you have 4 squares limiting a cube, so the next up would be 4 cubes limiting a wtf.
or imagine flatland where everything is 2D, then you as a god from the 3d dimension send a ball trough it. what would a 2d creature see. First a spot growing in to a circle and the circle would become a spot and vanish. If a 4 d being would do that to us and send a 4d ball trough we would see a point come from nothing growing in to a ball then shrinking down to a point and vanishing.
hope that helps.

then you have 4 squares limiting a cube
Wouldn't that be 6 squares?

8 cubes for a wtf.
But a tesseract doesn't go anywhere that a cube hasn't already been. Dimensions are orthagonal to each other and after 3 there aren't any new ones left.

Isn't the 4d equivalent a hypercube? Or is that something else?
ABE: I should have looked at Wikipedia before posting. A hypercube is the arbitrary n-dimensional version.

dont the string,m,superstring... theories predict 10 dimensions +time, we just cant see them because we live in a 4d's persons flatland.
