The usual trajectory for developed nations is that each generation is less religious than the last. So as the older population is replaced by the younger, the religiosity declines.
There are complicating factors though. Immigration from less advanced countries skews the data as immigrants transfer their beliefs inward and breed faster than the indigents.
If you look at the UK you see that although declining, Christianity is bolstered by Catholic imigration from Poland. Islam too benefits from higher than average birth rates.
If you look at the world as a whole, you find religiosity as a % of total population is actually increasing as large, enforced atheist populations like China and Russia are given more liberty of beliefs and the less developed countries breed faster than the more developed.
There's a long way to go.
