Faith writes: I still think if you pay Americans enough they will do that work. If you paid people 100k/year to work in orchards and on farms I'm sure they could find Americans to fill those spots. However, I don't think you will like your grocery bill.

Faith writes: I also know of an illegal I'd like to see somehow helped to become legal because of his hard work and usefulness to his employer. But I don't know how many situations could be described in such ways. Ironically, there was an illegal worker who was employed by the same company for over a decade. He even won employee of the month on a few occasions. With almost no warning, he was fired after years of faithful and hard work. Guess who that guy worked for? The Trump Organization. Faith writes: I get tired of all the projections and innuendos treated as important on your side, like all the rumors and suspicions and fictions that pass for news. It all means absolutely nothing to me. Facts mean nothing to you, as already demonstrated. You also don't seem to have a problem with rumors, suspicions, and fictions that you hear on your favorite radio and TV programs.

Percy writes: I am strongly in favor of reducing our involvement in overseas wars, but now that we're in we should only get out if we can assure ourselves that it is not to our own detriment or that of any of our allies. We can't leave Syria because ISIS isn't really defeated and it would leave the Kurds at the mercy of the Turks. And we can't leave Afghanistan because it would leave the weak (both politically and militarily) government at the mercy of the Taliban, and we couldn't guarantee that an Afghanistan run by the Taliban wouldn't return to being a breeding ground for terrorists. Agreed. Gen. Colin Powell laid out the Pottery Barn rule (if you break it, you own it), and that check has been passed to each new adminstration. The US broke that part of the Middle East, so now have to fix it no matter how any one individual may view the mess that got us here.

Faith writes: As I understand it, much of the report is of Grand Jury testimony which is not legally allowed to be revealed because it's testimony by people in a prosecutorial context that does not allow them to have a lawyer or any of the usual protections provided in other legal proceedings. Also, testimony in such a context could involve top secret information that could put the witness in jeopardy of serious harm, even death. Top secret information is discussed in closed congressional meetings all of the time, so that isn't an issue. However, I think an interview with Mueller could settle a lot of issue without needing to produce grand jury testimony. I fully agree that grand jury testimony should not be publicly available unless it is deemed to be in the public interest, and that should be a high bar.

Robert E. Lee was no Hitler. To make such a comparison is to be a Class A ignoramus. I think he was a friend of Lincoln's too IIRC, and I don't think he even supported slavery but he fought for his homeland as he should. They were honorable people in those days.
Lee seceded from his homeland, and then fought against people from his homeland, all in a bid to keep slavery in place. There is zero doubt that the Civil War was over slavery, and that what was being defended in that war. If you think that is honorable, then we simply differ in our outlook.

The joke on the internet went "as soon as he said that, a stone flies over him from behind and he whirls around and exclaims 'Mom!!!' " If it happened today, he would exclaim "Donald!!!" "I like to be good. I don't like to have to ask for forgiveness. And I am good. I don't do a lot of things that are bad. I try to do nothing that is bad."--Donald Trump

I know it all too but I remember the day very well when a pro-life video was shown at my church and I cried for days after seeing it.
Almost no one is pro-abortion. Personally, I think every elective abortion is very sad, and a lot of the reasons for an abortion can be laid at the feet of our culture that doesn't support young mothers. The crux of the matter is whose in charge of deciding if an abortion happens. Do we have the right to tell a pregnant woman what she does with her body? What impact have abortion bans had on women in the past? Sometimes in a free society we have to afford people the right to make hard decisions for themselves. Edited by Taq, : No reason given.

I do wonder how many of you could see a living baby that escaped from an abortion and go ahead and kill it.
I wonder how many people could kill a cow, and how many of those people would still eat a hamburger without feeling guilty.

And again, it is really remarkable how ONLY the stories YOU believe are the true ones. YOU are of course NEVER "uninformed."
Darn it!! There goes another irony meter.

Faith writes: Calling me dishonest is just another Leftty smear term. Why can't you Lefties ever just treat people fairly? The level of projection is mind numbing. You just got done accusing Planned Parenthood of lying as a smear, and you refuse to treat them fairly. You need to follow your own advice.

Faith writes: Yeah well I do consider it a different thing to attack an individual versus an institution. Or an ideology, especially where some of its written rules are clearly stated including that lying is fine when it serves the ideology. You just declared that Planned Parenthood are lying with no evidence to back it. You then proceed to smear their reputation with no evidence and no reasoning. You are doing the very same thing that you accuse others of.

Faith writes: The movie "Unplanned" is my evidence that they lie. Take it or leave it. What evidence in the movie counters the words on PP own website guiding women to resources that counsel women on many other options, such as adoption?

Faith writes: Ha ha. Nave you are. Dogmatic, you are. You seemed to be the very type of person that you claim to be battling against. You smear the name of anyone who disagrees with you, you ignore any evidence that contradicts your views, and you cling to an ideology dogmatically.

Stile writes: Seems to me like your best avenue is more along the lines of: "Sorry, Trump is an imbecile. In his reflexive attempt to fight against The Left, he accidentally sided with white supremacists. However, I assure you that this is entirely due to Trump's low intelligence and inability to think a step ahead about what he's actually saying. It doesn't actually mean he thought about siding with white supremacists - mostly because Trump rarely thinks. He generally simply reacts. Like a brainless, thoughtless, exposed nerve." That sounds about right. If the Left is against racism, then Trump reflexively thinks he should support racists. He also gets support from racists, and that further triggers that reflex. At some point they need to remind The Donald that he can speak against racists all he wants and he will still get their vote.
