Funny, Jesus never called the Pharisees "Leftist". They were, in fact, much farther to the right than He was. That was His main complaint about them.

Maybe not in your delusion about "Leftists" - but in the real world, it certainly does. The Pharisees were the conservatives who wanted to preserve the "good old days". Jesus was the radical who wanted to overthrow the status quo.

He opposed capital punishment. He told the rich to sell all they had and give to the poor. He told people to love their enemies. He violated the Sabbath. And on and on.

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." The mark of Cain. In the human context, he was radical.
