What about Safari iOS?

I can vaguely still remember computers.

Abe: when the the do nothing button become a wisdom font?

The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer.

Does a query (thats a question Stile) that uses this physical reality, to look for an answer to its existence and properties become theoretical, considering its deductive conclusions are based against objective verifiable realities.

To me it looks more a verdana type of font.

I'll let myself out.

Good question. Working on my iPhone X I tried three different solutions I found on the web and none worked. I won't bore you with the details of things that didn't work. If anyone has an answer please post.

Anyone ever heard of ALPN?
I'm gradually improving our new cloud server. I think I already mentioned the automated firewall, and I changed the ssh port to halt the constant break-in attempts, and we're now using HTTP/2, a faster version of HTTP/1

But HTTP/2 also has an association with something called ALPN. ALPN capability (or its predecessor, NPN) is built into the operating system, and ALPN won't work with Centos 6, so to use it we would have to rebuild nginx (something new to me that I think works with Apache) or upgrade to Centos 7. I have two questions:

  • Would ALPN provide any benefit for a site like EvC Forum?

  • If so, has anyone ever rebuilt Apache or upgraded an OS on a Linux box in the cloud who could provide advice?

I don't want to do either of these things until I'm pretty confident of what I'm doing. The instructions at the CentOS Upgrade webpage seem straightforward on the surface, but they describe a number of things I'm unfamiliar with, e.g.:

    quote:
If your Apache web server configuration enables SSL security, make sure to only enable the TLSv1 protocol, and disable SSLv2 and SSLv3. This is due to the POODLE SSL vulnerability (CVE-2014-3566). See https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1232413 for details.

Not that I can't look these things up, but reading about something is not the same as having done it once or twice, so I can easily imagine getting myself into trouble that I can't dig myself out of.

So, any help appreciated.

Re: Anyone ever heard of ALPN?
I’m pretty sure that nginix is an alternative to Apache.

Disabling SSL in favour of TLS is something you should do anyway. TLS1.2 should work for anyone who is at all reasonably up to date. TLS1.3 is coming in, but I think it is too early to disable TLS1.2 (1.0 should be disabled and probably 1.1, too)

A friend that knows a little about this says you should look at this page. He isn't real familiar with it but thinks this is at least a resource.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

Current Server Upgrade Status
Keeping people up to date on upgrades to the server:

  • I won't be upgrading to Centos 7 in the near future for these reasons:

    • The webhosting company set up the cloud server, and they chose Centos 6 instead of Centos 7. They haven't been transparent with me about that choice ("I guess the technician just chose Centos 6"), and this makes me wary.
    • A couple online webpages that say nothing derogatory about Centos 7 nonetheless do not make me confident with their warnings of the possibilities of a failed install (and dead website).

  • I can still upgrade to ALPN by rebuilding nginx, but I don't think EvC Forum takes advantage of any capabilities where ALPN would provide much benefit. ALPN minimizes the number of round-trip communications between client and server, and I think EvC Forum would save only one round trip. There's an initial negotiation between client and server whereby they agree upon a protocol, and since ALPN has the client send a list of supported protocols to the server and lets the server select one it saves a round trip. This would be nice, but performance already seems fine, and much better than the many websites that have somehow bloated themselves with I don't know what, maybe Javascript and Ajax.

  • The next thing I will work on is to add an XML site index for webcrawlers. Supposedly this can improve your rank order in searches. Right now EvC Forum has a very low rank for any search terms I tried.

  • Google is adding the concept of canonical URL's. I haven't looked into this yet, but it may be something else that helps with search ranking.

Edited by Admin, : Grammar.
