Re: The Latest From Prager U
But I believe if a potential killer knew he’d encounter teachers and administrators well-trained in the use of weapons, we’d have less shootings. Different solutions. Shared goal.
This is a good one. I mostly hear this solution proposed by people who do not work in schools.
I think most teachers and administrators who want to arm themselves and get extensive training for dealing with active shooters in their schools will quickly realize that the police may misidentify them as the active shooter.
How many hours of training by armed response experts will be required before these armed teachers and administrators are certified to be qualified to protect our children from an active shooter in a school setting?
Who is responsible when a student gets shot by an armed teacher? If a teacher gets shot by police who is responsible?
I guess taxpayers would put up multi-million dollar bonds so the city, county, state doesn't get sued when students get accidentally shot by armed teachers and administrators that were supposed to be protecting them.
I guess asking these questions makes me a.....?

Re: guns in schools
Why don't we have the same gates they put in airports and courtrooms? No weapons get through.
Yep, I agree. A single entry point with metal detector, and trained armed personal. X-ray for backpacks. Expense vs children's lives.
It will not solve the whole problem, but that's not an excuse to do something stupider, like arming teachers.
Universal background checks won't solve everything, but they will stop some people from legally acquiring firearms they cannot legally posses.

Barr has the Mueller Report
Robert Mueller Submits Report On Russia Investigation to Attorney General Barr
quote:
Attorney General William Barr received a report by special counsel Robert Mueller on Friday that summed up the findings from Mueller's investigation into the Russian attack on the 2016 presidential election.
Barr notified congressional leaders in a letter that said he is "reviewing the report and anticipate that I may be in a position to advise you of the special counsel's principal conclusions as soon as this weekend."
The letter was addressed to the leaders and ranking members of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees.
Barr also says he intends to consult with Mueller and with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein "to determine what other information from the report can be released to Congress and the public consistent with the law."

Re: Barr has the Mueller Report
This past 3 years since Shit-for-Brains announced he was running has lowered my expectations so far that I think he will get away with everything, no matter what it is. He has been doing a lot of his bullshit defiantly right out in the open. The republicans all think he shits chocolate syrup.

Re: Trump Resumes Efforts to Eliminate Obamacare
nothing specific has yet been proposed for what might replace the Affordable Care Act.
Sure there has. Misery and death for the poor and elderly.
They are not just eliminating the ACA, what they are doing is going to fuck up everyone's insurance.

Windmill Sounds Cause Cancer
Trump’s long history of pushing wild misinformation about wind turbines
quote:
President Donald Trump is a climate change denier and renewable energy hater. That much has been clear for a long time. But during a speech on Tuesday evening, he took the flawed arguments he’s been making against wind energy to new levels of absurdity.
Addressing the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), Trump claimed that sounds made by wind turbines cause cancer.
“If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations, your house just went down 75 percent in value,” Trump said. “And they say the noise causes cancer. You tell me that one, okay? Rerrrr rerrrr!”

Re: dementia or something
What I can't understand is someone watching Trump speak and not being terribly embarrassed. He is either very stupid or is, in fact, suffering from dementia.
It is embarrassing and chilling, to know he's the president of the United States, and knowing he is a psychopath, a narcissist, incredibly stupid, and clearly has dementia.
But the Trump supporters here don't seem to notice how horrible it all is.
And they cheer as he dismantles everything good about our government. Mass psychosis or mass dementia.
The whole planet should be fearful.

Re: Fake News
But just looking at the man talk doesn't repel them!!! That is amazing to me. That I can't wrap my head around at all.
That perfectly describes my reaction also. Watching him insult them over and over and they cheer, WTF? (I love the uneducated. Trump, 2016) (Believe me, this tax bill is really going to hurt me. Trump 2017).
I watched this happen to my oldest friend, I'm baffled! He was a police detective for fucks sake! He could always spot a lie and a liar.

Julian Assange Arrested
Julian Assange Arrested, Faces U.S. Charges Related To 2010 WikiLeaks Releases
quote:
The Justice Department announced Thursday that it is charging Julian Assange, setting the stage for a historic legal showdown with the controversial founder of WikiLeaks.
The unsealing of an indictment dated more than a year ago followed a whirlwind reversal of fortune for Assange, who was ejected from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he confined himself for years, and then hauled into custody by officers of the Metropolitan Police.
British authorities have received a request to extradite Assange, they said. He is expected to appear at a hearing on June 12.
Justice Department investigators have described the key role that they say Assange and WikiLeaks played in the Russian attack on the 2016 election, but the charges announced on Thursday allude to an earlier chapter in his long-running drama.
This will be entertaining. A new "Breaking News" headline for cable media.
It will be interesting to watch how Trump TV reports the story compared to the rest.
Does Trump Love or hate Assange?

Re: The Mueller Report
I downloaded a pdf of the report, if for no other reason than to have it as a reference.
What I'm seeing so far is, Mueller tied up the evidence relative to Russian interference in 2016, and obstruction, with a bow. Congress has a shit load of stuff to investigate now and prosecutors know right where to look when Trump is out of office.
Boy, there were a lot of Russia contacts! The Russians have a very sophisticated on going program to disrupt our government and our society and they turned Trump and his family and supporters into pawns and dupes and it is still in operation.
It's interesting that Mueller didn't do face to face interview with any of the Trump family.
There is nothing in the non-redacted portions about business, financial, money laundering, fraud, or taxes, as far as I can tell.
I suspect that things are not humming along like a well oiled machine in the White House right now.

Re: Sarah Sanders Lied about the Comey Firing
In other words, Sarah Sanders lied to reporters, and knew she was lying to reporters, on two occasions when she stated that Comey had lost the confidence of rank-and-file FBI members.
Sarah Sanders next appearance before reporters should be an interesting one.
It is humorous when sycophants like Huckasand end up leaving their mark on history labeled as a proven public liar in an official investigative report that is never going to go away.
I suspect that before this whole science fiction version of America is over there will be a bunch of people remembered by history as crooks, dupes, idiots, and frauds, and most of all liars, every single one.

10000 false and misleading claims
Lie No. 10,000 is really a whopper
quote:
AS PRESIDENT TRUMP zoomed past a lowly personal milestone ” his 10,000th false or misleading statement in his 27-month-old presidency, according to The Post Fact Checker ” he let fly a series of whoppers on a subject that logic would suggest he’d be better off leaving unremarked: family separation. The president, whose own administration imposed and then rescinded a systematic policy of wrenching migrant children from their parents, with no protocol in place to reunite them, now poses as a paragon of compassion that ended cruel laws in place before he took office. This is false.
During an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Mr. Trump suggested that his heartless policy had continued practices in place under the Barack Obama and George W. Bush administrations, among others. In contrast to his predecessors, Mr. Trump said, “we’ve been on a humane basis . . . we go out and stop the separations,” he said. “The problem is you have 10 times as many people coming up with their families. It’s like Disneyland now.”
In fact, the “zero tolerance” policy was formulated (with White House approval) by Mr. Trump’s then- attorney general, Jeff Sessions. The policy mandated automatic imprisonment for undocumented adult asylum seekers apprehended at the border, meaning migrant children would be seized from their parents’ custody and transferred for placements scattered around the country by the Department of Health and Human Services.

DONALD TRUMP SAYS GAMING TAX SYSTEM WAS ”SPORT’
DONALD TRUMP SAYS GAMING TAX SYSTEM WAS ”SPORT’ WHILE HE ADMONISHES POOR AMERICANS FOR USING WELFARE
quote:
resident Donald Trump lost nearly $1 billion, or “more money than nearly any other individual American taxpayer,” between 1985 and 1994, according to a new report by The New York Times. The president responded Wednesday by claiming that those significant losses were just a way to get out paying the federal government owed money for “sport.”
Yet while brushing off depriving the federal government of huge amounts of revenue, Trump has repeatedly spoken out and created a policy against impoverished Americans who rely on welfare programs, whom he views as gaming the system.
“Real estate developers in the 1980’s & 1990’s, more than 30 years ago, were entitled to massive write-offs and depreciation which would, if one was actively building, show losses and tax losses in almost all cases. Much was nonmonetary. Sometimes considered ”tax shelter,’” the president tweeted Wednesday morning following the Times report.
“You would get it by building, or even buying. You always wanted to show losses for tax purposes....almost all real estate developers did - and often re-negotiate with banks, it was sport. Additionally, the very old information put out is a highly inaccurate Fake News hit job!”
quote:
The Times found that between 1990 and 1991, the president’s businesses lost more than $250 million each year, “more than double those of the nearest taxpayers in the I.R.S. information for those years." If the president was truly losing millions of dollars each year (and declaring bankruptcy on a number of occasions) to game the government for “sport,” he was truly blowing his competition out of the water.
In a statement to the Times, a White House official said, “The president got massive depreciation and tax shelter because of large-scale construction and subsidized developments." They added, "That is why the president has always scoffed at the tax system and said you need to change the tax laws. You can make a large income and not have to pay a large amount of taxes.”
But the president's $1.5 trillion tax plan gave the top 1 percent of Americans about 21 percent of the tax cuts. By 2027, over 80 percent of tax cuts will flow to the top 1 percent.

Re: DONALD TRUMP SAYS GAMING TAX SYSTEM WAS ”SPORT’
This is all true, but of course he is stacking the federal courts, hoping appeals will fall in his favor.
And there is no way to hold him accountable for the long term damage he is doing to every agency, State, Interior, EPA, law enforcement, intelligence, experts gone in every field instead of training future experts. Corrupt clowns, both confirmed by the Senate AND unconfirmed by the Senate running the dismantling of those agencies.
