say what?

In most states, a requirement to obtain a driver's license is proof of citizenship.
I have lived and had drivers licenses in Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, South Carolina, California, Texas and maybe some states I forgot and NEVER have had to produce proof of citizenship for a drivers license, voting, residency, schools or any other function. In fact I have never been asked to provide proof of citizenship for any function, license or registration.

In addition to their concerns about costs and fraud, critics of the bill argued that the existing registration process was not complicated and that making it too easy to register might dilute the quality of the national electorate by including more people who knew little about the issues or the candidates.
In my opinion, there is a clear high road in this debate. Encouraging citizen participation is the high road and blocking both citizen participation and naturalization out of fear of how folks might vote is clearly the low road. I don't give a crap if the two opposing goals are partisan, the path of disenfranchising voters is clearly the non-democratic path.
I agree we should not dilute the quality of the national electorate by including more people who knew little about the issues or the candidates and so maybe a reasonable condition to register to vote would be to have the prospective take the same tests that immigrants take to become citizens with the same requirements to pass.
Certainly any natural born voter should be as informed and knowledgeable about democracy and the Republic as them damn brown furrners.

Re: say what?
But wait, there's more.
If you have ever looked at the test that immigrants take to become citizens you would realize that it would mean probably 90% of the US citizenry will become ineligible to vote.
The quality of the national electorate will then be assured.
Think of the time saved when only a few tens thousand votes need be counted, almost all from recently immigrated naturalized citizens.

Proof of citizenship
I can only repeat that I have never been asked to show anything related to being a citizen so far. I will have to renew my license in 2020 or late 2019 and so I can report back then

What he has never done historically is declare "Mea Culpa".

Re: Guilty As Charged
Stile writes:
I suppose I'm asking, in your law-experienced-view, is there any way Trump could end up not being taken to court?
Yes, in fact there is a precedent and example.
quote:
As a result of certain acts or omissions occurring before his resignation from the Office of President, Richard Nixon has become liable to possible indictment and trial for offenses against the United States. Whether or not he shall be so prosecuted depends on findings of the appropriate grand jury and on the discretion of the authorized prosecutor. Should an indictment ensue, the accused shall then be entitled to a fair trial by an impartial jury, as guaranteed to every individual by the Constitution.
It is believed that a trial of Richard Nixon, if it became necessary, could not fairly begin until a year or more has elapsed. In the meantime, the tranquility to which this nation has been restored by the events of recent weeks could be irreparably lost by the prospects of bringing to trial a former President of the United States. The prospects of such trial will cause prolonged and divisive debate over the propriety of exposing to further punishment and degradation a man who has already paid the unprecedented penalty of relinquishing the highest elective office of the United States.
Now, THEREFORE, I, GERALD R. FORD, President of the United States, pursuant to the pardon power conferred upon me by Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution, have granted and by these presents do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974.

Re: Mueller Report Lays Groundwork for Impeachment and Post-Presidency Prosecutions
That's certainly a reasonable conclusion and honestly il Donald is hardly worth the effort to impeach. The world should simply continue to ignore the fool, refuse to commit the crimes he requests, let the courts continue to overturn his most stupid mistakes and let the whole rest of the world enjoy laughing at the US and il Donald.
At least he is a wonderful source for late night comedy.
Once he's out of office, follow the money and leave the whole family on the dole.

Re: DONALD TRUMP SAYS GAMING TAX SYSTEM WAS ”SPORT’
One important thing to remember is that there are limits on Presidential Pardons.
A President cannot grant pardons related to an Act of Impeachment.
A President cannot grant a pardon for any State or Local crimes.
A President cannot issue pardons for any crimes committed in any other Nation.
This is why it is so important to Follow the Money.
If the money trail shows any State, Local, or International crimes were committed by Trump or Trump Inc or any of the Trump family or any of the Trumpians those crimes cannot be pardoned by Trump or any other President.
