The D-Day remembrance ceremonies was a very a very big thing for us here in the UK and France.Trump was here partly to participate in them. He behaved characteristically badly just before he landed tweeting that the mayor of London was a “stone cold loser”.But as he absorbed our hospitality he mellowed and said some un-characteristically graceful things. Actually no-one could have survived the charm offensive he received and he physically saw the importance of nations working together on important common causes.
