Author | Topic: What Benefits Are Only Available Through God? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

You can have a purpose in life when you sincerely believe in the God of the bible. Along with purpose comes meaning. You can have these things without God but not all purposes or life meanings are equally valuable if you are seeking something that will give you the ability to withstand suffering when it inevitably comes your way.

Is a leprechaun all knowing, all powerful and existing outside of time and space?

It's highly unlikely any of those purposes will give you the ability to withstand severe setbacks in life unless perhaps you abide by some philosophy like stoicism and stoicism is a poor way to live compared to a God inspired purpose.

I just showed that the claims made for the biblical God and a leprechaun are nothing alike. Now it seems you are saying the claims for the FSM are exactly those made for God. Is that correct.

I support what the bible clearly says. Make your case if you have anything else other than insults.

So leprechauns are eternal and all powerful and exist outside of space and time?
Who says that besides you?

Jar says:
Does the Bible say that God walked with and talked with and made clothes for Adam & Eve? If so, then the Bible says God exists within time and space. He can act within space and time as he did with adam and eve. But, at the same time he was "walking" with the first couple, he was also speaking to joan of arc in 1428 in dom'remy France through his Angel's. Acting in one particular space and time does not rule out his existence outside of space and time. If he was confined to space and time, he would still be walking around on the planet. It's pretty hard to miss a supreme being in his essence.

There are not 66 books that refer to leprechauns spread out over thousands of years. They are mentioned in fairytales that make no pretense of speaking of reality. These 66 books refer to actual places and people and events. All of them reference the God of abraham. Your claim is that all these authors made it up out of thin air. Can you provide a case that it's so based on actual evidence?

So books about leprechauns refer to Ireland?? I'm assuming your point is that since it references an actual place it must be just as valid as the bible. The books on leprechauns were written to Irish people. It's part of their folklore. Its assumed the audience is from a real location. You cannot stretch the analogy further than that.

Assyria Babylon and Persia are given detailed interactions with Israel and judah. By your own definition, that is geography.
There certainly is loads of history concerning Israel. I know you dispute the bible's reckoning but you cannot prove it to be false much less a myth. Edited by foreveryoung, : No reason given.

Stiles did not ask for eternal benefits. He asked for benefits in the here and now. Purpose and meaning in life can come from any religion. If a purpose is derived from islam or buddhism it will pale in comparison to a purpose that is derived from a sincere belief in the God of the bible.
Purposes that are held by people who deny the existence of any being in charge of the universe can only be derived from philosophy. One could have a philosophy to remove suffering in this world at every opportunity but the notion that some people do not deserve rights or have an intrinsic value because you deem them to be evil, will end up causing the world harm and such a purpose would ultimately lead to regret.
