Yes, they recognized that so why don't you?
They provided means for changing whatever doesn't keep pace with changing times you know... Faith writes:
Well, no. They built their democracy more or less from scratch. They could see what didn't work when despots did it but they were less certain about what would work. Hence, the possibility of, and need for, change.
... their insights were timeless, built on centuries of trial and error. Faith writes:
You contradict yourself. Remember when you said, "They provided means for changing whatever doesn't keep pace with changing times"?
Despite pretenses to great changes, there really is "nothing new under the sun" and we need to recognize that. Faith writes:
No, we're advocating "changing whatever doesn't keep pace with changing times." You and the other "progressives" here are courting anarchy and chaos and the complete breakdown of society.Izquierdo.

And that is what is happening. Why are you complaining about it?
As I said, they provided MEANS for changing the Constitution, llberals don't just get to change it as they please, we all get a say in it. Faith writes:
The only democracy they had as a model was the one they broke away from. And no, they did NOT make it from scratch, it was the product of centuries of political experience in Europe.Izquierdo.

Of course there is. Stop saying dumb things. The process is there even of nobody is voting on an amendment at this very moment.
There is no process underway for amending the Constitution. Faith writes:
A democratic republic. Democracy is NOT what the Founders established, but a Republic...Izquierdo.

We also know what "Jewish conspiracy" refers to. It's a real term but not a real thing. Whether or not you characterize it as a "political term" you still know what it refers to, don't you?Izquierdo.

Do you have evidence that it does? ... if I were to use the term partial-birth abortion would you be within your rights to say such a thing never happens? All that are in Hell, choose it. -- CS Lewis That's just egregiously stupid. -- ringo

I didn't ask where the term comes from. I asked if it ever happens. Where does the term "partial-birth" abortion come from? And to move thi gs along, if it does happen, what are the circumstances? All that are in Hell, choose it. -- CS Lewis That's just egregiously stupid. -- ringo

Well, if this was Hollywood trickery it looked pretty goddamn real.... and gruesome. It also looked full-term to me.
I asked for the circumstances and you say it appeared to be stillborn. That's the impression I got from the descriptions/definitions that have been posted. So it's not actually an abortion. Do we have laws that force people to walk around with a gangrenous limb? Or with a tumour? I have no problem at all with calling that dictating. But we have all kinds of laws regulating medical practice. To say such laws are "dictating" is an abuse of language. Read my lips: I'm only talking about laws that would force somebody to carry around an unwanted (and potentially dangerous) body part. Are you suggesting that such a law would not be dictatorial? But we do have laws, surely you agree that some of them are not "dictating"!All that are in Hell, choose it. -- CS Lewis That's just egregiously stupid. -- ringo

You should be clearer then. To me, and to a lot of people here, I'm sure, your raving against same-sex marriage sounds exactly like you're calling it evil. Odd that I haven't said anything like that then. All that are in Hell, choose it. -- CS Lewis That's just egregiously stupid. -- ringo

We've been through that many times. "God's law" regarding homosexuality is no different from "God's law" regarding shellfish or mixed fabrics. If you're going to stand up against homosexuality, you have to stand up against Red Lobster and Sears too.
Same sex marriage violates God's law... Faith writes:
Posting in all caps is practically the definition of raving.
... how have I been "raving" against it? Faith writes:
Posting nonsense over and over again doesn't turn it into sense.
I just keep having to say over and over again.... Faith writes:
Nonsense. Marriage is an agreement between two (or possibly more) people. You are raving against that agreement being recognized by the government. And marriage isn't people, it's an institution so you are out of bounds to claim I'm raving against people. All that are in Hell, choose it. -- CS Lewis That's just egregiously stupid. -- ringo

I haven't told you what to believe. I've just pointed out that what you believe is nonsensical, unscriptural and unchristlike. You can believe that God has pink polka-dots for all I care but you're not going to get away with claiming it's Biblical. Yes we've been through it and you don't get to tell someone else what to believe. All that are in Hell, choose it. -- CS Lewis That's just egregiously stupid. -- ringo
