I don't think she's electable. I'll disagree. If a pathological liar like Trump can get elected so can Pocahontas after a minor faux pas about her heritage. It's not like she lied, the DNA really is there, just not as prominent as some were led to assume and being "Native" is more than just DNA. As a flaming liberal who wants the whole world to link arms and sing Kumbaya I find a lot to like about Liz's philosophy and history. But the race just started and there is a lot of politics yet to be heard to be so resolute on one minor tittle. I'll look and listen to see how Beto, Kamala and the others react to the fight. Is there a page showing all of her comments on the issue (and the context)? Probably, somewhere. It really isn't important. She was proud of having the ancestry. Maybe a bit too proud owing to political concerns, but she acknowledged the heritage is way back, and more telling, she not only accepted the native nation's statement that being "native" was considerably more than a few strands of chemistry, she repeated that statement to the press in acknowledgement. To me it's a nit. I'm sure there will be those who will wave it around like some kind of major personality flaw but that is politics as usual. It does nothing to detract from her philosophy on governance and human dignity which should be where the political dialogue should focus. Otherwise I don't care. I don’t know who I will end up supporting come November 2020.
Right now I feel more affection for Pocahontas and Beto than the rest but all that can change. I will put time in for Sen Warren’s local campaign. If she becomes non-viable I will switch to my then favorite, whoever that be. In the end I will actively enthusiastically work for whoever is the Democrat nominee. I have my druthers but if that isn’t to be then so be whatever. No matter who you support early please remember that at the end of the process the overriding goal of this next election is to get that narcissistic idiot out of the Oval Office. It really doesn't matter which democrat you support. Pick one and go to work for them even if only 2-3 nights a month. There will only be two choices. Don't dilute the strength of our opposition to Trump by going all googly eyes over some third party. We cannot allow the Trumpettes to slide to victory again.Eschew obfuscation. Hey! Stop with the racism. Us jerk off clueless white dudes who actually do remember JFK take exception to our characterization.
What you got on Jay Inslee. I haven't seen him but a Colorado friend told me the folks in Colorado either hate him or love him and all for the same reason. He's a flaming liberal with a rather pragmatic approach.Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

Those meetings are where political power is made and exercised.
Having good liberal progressive people in them would be nice for a change. Is he a VP wannabe?Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

I have no problem with using an enemy's proposals, even their syntax, when they may be the right solutions.

Yes. We already know carbon capture is not the majik bullet to solve our climate problems. Alternate sources are indeed key.
But, as your sources point out, carbon capture and carbon offsets do increase fossil fuel energy costs. It forces global society, which is firmly entrenched in the fossil fuel mode, to put a more realistic cost on that technology. Fighting our climate problems requires a multi-pronged approach. Carbon capture puts a more meaningful cost on our present energy scheme incenting development of alternate sources. It is but one program among the many we need to put into place. We're not going to abandon fossil fuels anytime soon no matter how many pricey alternatives we develop and we need to invest to develop a lot of them and make them cheaper. The political/economic present responds to cost not altruism. Cost will move society. An example. Last year Tesla made around $2 billion selling its carbon offsets to other car manufacturers. $2 billion is a pretty good incentive to improve the efficiency and economic viability of electric cars. And those gas guzzling monsters now cost a bit more to sell. GM has to recover the cost of buying those offsets somehow. It also incents GM to move toward its own electric vehicle. Or, since part of Tesla's issues is slow manufacture, maybe it could incent GM to buy Tesla and put making electric cars on a faster cheaper track. Every little bit helps. just simply set aside differences and at long last, do the right thing. With the republicans in the senate? That's asking too much. No political advantage to it.Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

Pocahontas is from Massachusetts and her replacement in the senate would probably not be a conservative republican. I'm ok taking that chance.
And as someone else dared point out, I also think that EW has a pretty annoying vocal tonality. Why do we do that? Why do we give so much service to small personal stuff when the ideas are the only important aspect of this whole exercise? I know, I know. Media, internet. Cult of personality instead of corpus of thought. This is the social landscape we created. Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

From what I understand you alt-Reich neo-Nazis kill more of us Americans than any other group foreign or domestic.
We could be a lot better off by getting rid of you and opening the border. Just saying. Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given.Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

what do you want when it comes to immigration? I think what the Democrats would like would be to work with Republican statesmen rather than Republican sado-racists hell bent on avoiding any kind of political compromise on the issue.Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

the borders of the Nation of California Yeah, but the Nation of California is not defining "brown people" as "invasive species" the way the Republicans do. Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given.Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

Since his presidential announcement speech in June 2015 Trump has tagged brown people an invasive species to be crushed. The republicans, the whole damn party, has echoed that blatant racism.
