And if you look at people's comments at the time, people explicitly referred to " Irish" as distinct from the "white races".
Racism could be complicated until you realize "race" really just means "people I don't like". If this was a witch hunt, it found a lot of witches. -- David Cole, writing about the Mueller investigation.

Call people racists who have said nothing to justify the term, and then change the definition to make it fit when they point out a discrepancy. I think this is called "railroading" or something llke that? Same as what the Trump-despisers are doing to Trump, accusing him of stuff that never entered his mind and imposing your own definitions on everything he says until you're convinced you're right though it's nothing but a frame-up.

How can I be hiding and denying something I never even heard of before? But you have indeed heard that your position is racist, such that your participation in this topic centers around your failed attempts to hide and deny that racism. So this attempt of yours to deflect is very sadly transparent.

See previous post. This is the Twilight Zone for sure, nothing I've said justifies your accusations and your twisted logic is what is transparent: gotta make me guilty of something somehow or other..

As I have pointed out to you before, being called a racist is nowhere near as bad as being a racist. Somebody who doesn't want to be a racist would ask how they can become less racist; they wouldn't complain about being called a racist. Call people racists who have said nothing to justify the term....Izquierdo.

Gosh, more twisted cleverness in the service of manufacturing guilt.

That has always been the definition. Racism has been a continuum. Different races at one time were the people the next valley over. Then they became a little more distinct. The Irish, Italians and Eastern Europeans were considered different race than the Anglo-saxons. Now races is a little more expanded. Race is a social construct it is not a biological construct.

quote: Nothing of the sort is going on. I note, in addition, that the case that Ingraham is racist remains untouched. We still have no other explanation of what she meant by “demographic changes”, nor do we have any reason why she has failed to explicitly say what they were. She’s a TV presenter - communicating is her job. If she leaves an important point like that vague it’s because she doesn’t want to openly say what she means. Edited by PaulK, : No reason given.

A massive educational undoing of the Marxist influences of the last few decades is no doubt where we need to start. I suspect that you wouldn't be able to name a single Marxist influence, nor would you be able to even describe what Marxism is. Those are just scare words that are meant to mask racism.

Faith writes: Yes their being Christians makes them desirable immigrants from my point of view, but their poverty and lack of education really makes it impossible or at least very difficult. If you have ever driven through rural agricultural regions you will notice that we need cheap unskilled labor. As with almost all immigrant groups, it is the second generation that brings large rewards to the countries they immigrate to. This is why it is so important to invest in public education and ease of access for the poor. Edited by Taq, : No reason given.

This is the mistake that Canada makes, in my opinion. We tend to favour immigrants who are going to start a business and/or otherwise invest money. I think we should be bringing in more people who are willing to work three jobs to make a better life for their children.Izquierdo.

You can't enrich our culture by turning it into something else, something built on an alien philosophy. But that is how cultures develop. No culture remains static. In the USofA we are building a culture unique to all of humanity’s other efforts. All culture is constantly changing. We just do it faster than most. Change will strengthen our society with new ideas, arts, technology, and philosophies instead of rotting away from the stagnation of the narrow medieval religious foolishness you champion. As with the cultural melding of all those waves of immigrants past which created our unique culture of today the new waves of immigrants will strengthen it still more. This is America. We absorb all the world’s cultures altering them to fit our own national identity and having them shape and reshape that national identity creating a stronger more robust society. We don’t need to be concerned about cultural stagnation since we have all of them in a constantly renewing mix. This is part of the American Ideal. Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given. Do you really think we have the same culture the USA in 1789? Or the same culture as there was in 1920? 1950? 1990? 2010?
